Excerpt
“Excuse me,” I murmured in false pleasantries as I purposely brushed past the woman, my fingers grazing against the soft material of her skirt.
“Oh, sorry,” she was quick to apologise but when she tore her eyes away from the feral creature in her arms whom she had always been so besotted with, her lips immediately turned down into a scowl. I knew that if she could, she would take back her polite apology.
She was just as I remembered her.
Her hair was the same colour of midnight black as it always had been, the same shade as her beloved cat: Kis. Although it was longer and looked fuller. Her face was a beautifully heart-shaped, her eyes a deep hazel, her eyebrows dark and arched, making it appear as if she was always questioning whoever was lucky enough to speak to her. Her lips were full, and her cupids bow defined, a glorious shade of light red. Darker, and more rubier like in colour when she wet them with her tongue, which she often did when she was nervous. Which she was doing right now.
Astrid Skau, as always, was a sight to behold. How had I managed to go months without seeing her beautiful face every day, I had no idea.
