The True Meaning of Frienship

When the cold winds blow at night,

She brings me the sunrise.

When the night gets so dark I can not see,
He is the light to guide me through.

When the world is dry and without remorse,
She brings me the rain.

When the ground is crumbling beneath my feet, He gives me stable ground.

When the thorns of life snare and scratch,
She is there to bind my wounds.

When the scars run too deep,
He tells me they are beautiful.

When the drums of war sound,
She is my sword and my shield.

When I can stand no longer,
He is there to carry me on.

I may never be the same again,
But I love who I am with her.

I may never be able to change the past,
But with him I would never go back.

I have never been in her presence,
But my heart knows her touch.

I have never been close to him,
But my soul knows his joy.

I don’t know that this is called,
But I know that I share it with her.

I know not why our paths crossed,
But I know that I grew because of him.

For everything she is to me,
I will be everything to her.

For every smile he gives me,
I hope to return to him in kind.
