The Meet and Gather

In the year of 1990…

Deep in the Black Forest, lived a pregnant woman, Anika, and her husband Lucka. They were both forest born (born in the forest) and their parents both died from old age. The man and wife had a cabin just off of Lake Bloo; it was the size of a one story house with brown color for the exterior and fall colors for the interior.

Lucka wasn’t just an ordinary husband, but a hunter and a blacksmith as well. He made all the weapons he used for hunting- axes, bow and arrows, and knives. He was 5’9, had a slim waist, muscular arms and legs, black hair, and dark brown eyes. Just like Lucka, Anika had black hair, but her hair length was to her shoulders; Anika was 5’6 and she had very light brown eyes. Before the pregnancy, Anika was slim everywhere, but now she gained some junk in her truck and her breasts blew up a bit. Sewing and farming is what she did for a living; a week ago during her 35th week of pregnancy, she made herself a burgundy maternity dress with short sleeves.

Being a farmer was no walk in the park, but she had fresh fruits and vegetables ready when needed so that she and her baby were healthy enough and her husband could maintain his “body building” physique.

With Anika being so close to birth, she had to take it easy because as her husband told her, "you are going to burst if you keep working hard, woman!" "Well I need to get this baby out of me somehow!" They both responded with laughter. The married couple lived in peace and never had a worry in the world about anything or anyone, well except for a newborn baby being due at any moment.

A few trees, bushes, rocks and stones down from them lived a woman who grew and sold different types of flowers- roses, daisies, orchids, sunflowers and dandelions. She went by the name of Rose, being very friendly with Anika and Lucka, she became close friends with both of them. Rose invited the couple over for dinner one afternoon so they would get to know each other better.

Not being a cook, Rose did not know what to prepare, so for starters she made sweet lemon tea, herbal tea, and green tea for herself.

(Knocking on the door)
"Come in!", Rose yelled.
(Anika and Lucka entered)
"Hello Rose!"- the couples replied
"Hi there, come on in and sit down." "I made tea."
As both the husband and wife sat down….

"I hope it's sweet, you know I like my sweets, baby." Lucka abruptly stated.
"LUCKA!"

"Did your damn manners just fly the hell out the window?!!"

"Even if it's not sweet, Rose we will be glad to have some." Anika furiously responded as she elbowed Lucka in the stomach.

"Ugh!! Yes Miss Rose! I apologize; I guess I'm just tired from getting bruised today." Lucka sarcastically stated as he looked at his wife.

They all laughed. Rose poured the tea and she gave Lucka his sweet tea and Anika received the herbal tea. Lastly, Rose sat down with her tea.

"Mmmm" this is delicious, Rose. Anika said.
Lucka responded, "Hell yeah it is. What kind is this?"
"Well you, Anika, have herbal tea. It's healthy for you and the baby." "Now you, Lucka, you have your SWEET lemon tea!"
"HELL YEAH HELL YEAH!!!"
Laughter filled the cabin

Anika stopped the laughter with her question… "So what do you do other than growing and selling flowers?"
Rose responded with, "I study the medical field; I play with certain herbs to make remedies that can help a person with whatever problem they’re having."

“Anyway, I am not here to talk about myself, how about the two of you?” “I wanna know everything!”

Lucka jumped to answer, “I grew up with her!” “Soulmates at birth!”
Anika made an “awe” face and she added, “Our parents were practically best friends.”

Rose commented, “How adorable!” You guys must’ve been promised to each other as kids”
“Yeah, basically”, Anika said.
Everyone chuckled.

Rose sat there attentively listening to the story of how Lucka proposed to Anika, what they do for a living, how the journey of them going through the pregnancy is and most importantly the baby’s name.

Anika and Lucka decided if it was a boy it would be Loki and if it was a girl, the name would be Loqui. Once it was time for the married couple to go home, they said their goodbyes to Rose and thanked her for her hospitality.

“Come back anytime, ya hear?” Rose said
Lucka yelled in enjoyment, “HELL YEAH! THANKS AGAIN!”
“Thank you, Rose. Come over to our home sometime!”
Rose agreed, “I will!”
