Prologue
July 7, 2007.
The first murder was found. It was 3 days after Independence Day. The sky was still smoky and polluted from firework aftermath. The air drenched with the smell of burnt charcoal. Streets were busy. Homes were empty. The alleyway. That’s where the body was found. No one knew who it was. No one knew who to point to. It was a classic “Whodunnit” situation. Police were in a frenzy. They searched for days. Called reinforcements. Shut down streets and gatherings. The summer festival was cancelled until further notice. Days turned into weeks. Weeks into months. Months into years. Years turned into a cold case. The detectives who worked the case were retired. New police force completely neglected the case. Only one body was found. No other murders happened in those years of searching. At least 10 years passed.
The second murder was found.
