A beautiful story to be read by an open fire
"I absolutely loved and enjoyed this book! Despite the fact that I can relate so much to the main character being from the same country and having actually lived in the countries he travelled through, this book gave me a warm nostalgic feeling. The writing style was so close to my story books that I read as a child that had the African flow and vibe. The plot was captivating and indeed I couldn't read this book at night. I highly recommend this book! It is a fresh take on scary stories, very different from what you may be used to. Love it!"

An Enticing Read
"Great Storyline. I won't lie this definitely did scare me, even though I read quite abit of horror but just imagining this story play out gave me goosebumps. The author had the reader glued to the book, I just wanted to read on, it had just the right amount of suspense that would make you want to flip to the next page. Awesome Read! A VERY SCARY STORY! BEWARE!
"Ah the story was very scary and very interesting. I enjoyed reading this book too much but I was scared also, this man was very brave and the grandmother she was a brave woman for sure. Eish these spirit things, me I come from Botswana I know too many witchcraft things happening here but ah this one was too scary. I wonder where did the sangoma go and why he did not tell your father what is the problem. Did the devil spirit come back again or did it go away?"

"Honestly at first I didn't really expect much from this book, but since the title was so captivating I decided to give it a go and oh boy! The author had me absorbed into the story right from the start, It was such a thought provoking novel, really well written, I had so many questions by the end of each chapter. Overall Great story, nailed the genre. I'm gonna recommend this to my friends and get them to read it as well, looks like A Deal With The Devil is going to be a topic of discussion for our weekend hangouts. Chilling
"I definitely enjoyed this book even though am not usually a fan of horror, I plummeted right into it and could not put it down until the end. I enjoyed the writing style as it sucks you in from the get-go and it takes you on this journey to the past, through these different countries, although some aspects of it were hard to believe it really added to the thrilling factor of the story. It was suspenseful, thrilling and scary and somewhat trippy. The length of the book was perfect, for a short length, it packed in everything I needed. A big thanks to the author."

"I loved it. The plot was well laid out, and I loved how she tied in four different supernatural experiences, spanning decades, into one plot line and connecting it all. It kept me captivated right to the very end. At the moment ofcourse, I didn't realise just how scary it had been until I got up to go the bathroom and didn't want to go alone😂. The build up and setting up of everything was excellent, and I especially loved the use of the poems to "set the mood" of the reader before diving into the book. I had chills throughout the whole book, I couldn't put it down. I just had to know what was happening next to the story teller! It was delightfully horrifying and I'd love to read more from the author especially if other work will be as good as this."

"still giving it a good rating bcz of its build up. my love for horror books has been a long term relationship. this book doesnt sound true at all. the author speaks about her father's experience with an entity. the details are not realistic. there is no way any of happened. it is called a factual fiction for a reason! no doubt the story has a good impact, i felt the thrills on my spine. Maybe, just maybe this s*** happens in other countries around the world."
