Chapter 1

I'm gasping for air

With every breath, I try to take

It's like gasping for air

Where water fills my lungs giving me no escape

Every time I turn my head there is just another problem I have to face

Every time I think I have done something right

It blows back in my face

Another problem hiding in the dark

Waiting to come out for when I think I can take a breath

My vision is starting to blur with the tears trying to escape

I'm gasping for air

With every breath, I try to take

It's like gasping for air

Where water fills my lungs giving me no escape

The harder I kick to reach the surface

The water comes crashing down like waves

Pushing me deeper with every breath I take

Reaching out grasping for something to hold

A light to show there is an escape

But with every breath I take

It's another wave

Another problem to face

Where is the light in this forsaken place

Where is my breath I am so desperate to take

I can't see through the water

My vision is a blur

How do I correct the mistakes

As another wave comes crashing down

Chasing away the breath I tried to take

I'm gasping for air

Where is the surface in this forsaken place

It's like gasping for air

With every breath I take
