In the begging…Oliver did not know what to do
I was born differently than everyone else. When I was first brought into the light I was immediately aware of everything around me. It was like time slowed down, just so the whole world could look at me. I don't remember crying. The first thing I saw of this world was a sunset. So if I did cry, that's probably why. Then they were the voices, oh the voices. My dads impure thoughts with a camera we're probably enough to bring me to tears. I didn't know it yet, but this made me different. It's also how I learned so many cuss words at the age of four, mom and dad had a big fight about that one. Sorry, not sorry dad. I also proved to have a great deal of strength. I couldn't lift beds and cars yet, but I could lift twenty pounds at the age of three. Luckily, my parents just thought they made a very strong toddler. No visits to a hospital were needed, oh there egos. But the coolest thing I could do, this also happens to be my personal favor the three powers. I could control fire. If there was a physical fire in front of me I could move it, make it in to a ball to play with, or pretty much anything you could think of. My fire power would not work when my parents were around. The burns hurt. As I started to grow, I realized what I could do was not so normal. I noticed that other kids were weak, and no one could ever tell what I was thinking. Realizing that made me feel alone. My parents told me to stop trying to touch the fire, but it was all I ever wanted to do. The fire was the one thing I could control. I couldn't stop reading peoples minds and I couldn't stop being strong, fire is what I could control. I was in fourth grade when I met the others. It was at recess and I was playing in the corner with matches. All the sudden my hands started to burn, and a strong hand grabbed my mouth so I couldn't scream. My mind went to the worst, but the thoughts my attacker had calmed me. "I wonder if he is like us." My breathing slowed, but this person was still an attacker. I grabbed the match, forgetting how my power stopped working. I got up, turned around, and threw it at them. Time slowed down again, as the match flew in the darkness. But it only lasted for a second because a splash of water hit me in the face, and I heard a voice. "Calm down! What's your problem!" The voice was loud, and more masculine. "Who are you?" This question would be the most important question I would ever ask. "I'm Abby, and this is Samuel, and Ben. We just want to talk." There minds were rather silent, Ben thought I looked weird. "The f$%k do you want from me." Once again I had not learned that cuss words were not normal to fourth graders. As we started to walk back inside, "Sam" and Ben started to cuss up a storm, but luckily Abby got down to business. "We have seen you in gym class with the weights and we see you go behind the trailer every day so we thought you might be like us." Samuel could control nature, Sam could control stone, and Abby could control water. There was another girl Abby mentioned who had the power of spirit, at the time it was unexplainable. It turns out Samuel was like me, he could read minds. They were all very strong as well. Abby could also move very quick. Ben hadn't found what else he could do yet. Abby could use her power even when others were around. I was envious of her. Through out the years I always felt closest to Abby. She gave me a light when I was surrounded by darkness. "Oh, sorry I haven't fully introduced my self yet. I am Abby brown. What's your name?" My parents had big egos but at least they choose a normal name. "Oliver. Oliver Moore." Abby was thinking that she liked my name. "It is nice to meet you, Oliver."
Now I am 15. Tomorrow I start the ninth grade. I can already hear the lewd thoughts. I can still use my powers but I still have not found their pure purpose. Tomorrow will be a new day, and I have yet to see the adventures that await me.
