Prologue

The New York night air was freezing. Early winter snow had just began to pile up the streets, leaving people bundling up for warmth.

A little girl, no older than the age of seven, sat on the sidewalk in front of a busy hot dog stand not too far from the condo she lived in. Her mother had rushed her and her brother out in hopes of getting dinner before the streets became treacherous with snow.

Her mitted hands carefully kneaded handfuls of cold white fluff against the middle base of a forming snowman. Her slim knees pressed to her chest due to her crouched form, and despite the snot pooling from her red runny nose, she joyfully hummed the melody to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

A hand moved before her face, and without warning pulled the front of her beanie down over her eyes. "Hey!" She complained, shoving the fabric back up before working fast to continue her masterpiece of snow, "What was that for?!"

Her brother laughed, adjusting himself before crouching down besides her, "Mom wanted me to tell you our dogs are almost ready." His nose was equally as red as hers, but nonetheless he flashed her a wholesome grin and made pace in helping clump a snowman to life. "I just came to help," he concluded.

They succeeded in finishing the bottom half and were just about done with the head when their mother calling their names broke her brother's attention away from their work. He stood, leaving her side to help their mom collect the food they ordered.

"Such a pretty snowman you are," the girl cooed, patting the balls before her smooth. "I'll leave you here so everyone can see how beautiful you are. I think I'll name you Rand-"

Something plowed down onto her snowman with a loud crackly thud, causing the balls of snow she created to break apart and engulf the front of her face. She cried out in dismay, disappointed her masterpiece was undoubtedly ruined as she worked fast to wipe snow from her eyes. "I was so close!" She cursed her brother, "I was going to come as soon as-"

Her name was screamed along with several other arising screams and as her eyes looked to the remains of her snowman, they widened at the horrific sight before her.

She was yanked up from her spot by her mother and practically dragged backwards away from any possible danger. Away from the nude body of a red haired girl that had landed on top of her snowman.

Hello everyone. I wrote this story in the past but got extremely unmotivated and decided to discontinue. I hope that the people who enjoyed it and gave me well needed criticism will one day find this again and start a the journey all over again.
