Chapter 1
It was the first day in my new school. The name was pretty picky I think, its name was Sacred Willow Academy. As I entered the school cabin, I saw a girl with wavy hair, hazel brown eyes, and a long skirt. She was talking to the admin very joyfully and they were too. I did not want to disturb them but I just did. I asked one of the admins “Umm.... good morning mam, I am Leah and I am new here. Could you please help me find 8th grade” It became silent. I knew I shouldn’t have gone and broken the joy there. Then suddenly that girl came to me and said “Hi I am Scarlett, even though I am from 8th grade. I can lead you to the class if you want cause we will be classmates and also we are the only students who reached”. I was happy to find a classmate as soon as I came here. “Ya sure!! I am Leah. Let’s be friends!” I told. She smiled and said, “I would love to”. Her smile was warm and cheering and comforting. The teachers allowed us to go inside alone.
It was silent and awkward until we reached the classroom. Then Scarlett came near me and told “Let’s go out of the class and explore the school?” she asked. I did not know what to tell but I refused and told “The teachers might scold us if we do that, I think it’s better to sit and wait for others"
“The teachers won’t tell anything and even if they do, I will take care of it so don’t worry. You also don’t know the school I will show you around.” Scarlett told
I did not know what to tell but the way she spoke was reassuring so I decided to follow her. There was no one in the school yet. “What is the time?” I asked. She replied, “Oh it's 8:12 am Why?”
She did not have a watch but she told me the time, how? “How do you know the time?” I asked
“Well see there,” she said pointing above the water can “That’s the bell, and it shows the time. So I was able to tell”
“Oh right, I was just asking cause no one came yet, and it is kinda creepy that we are the only ones here,” I told
Then she looked at me with her eyes wide. Then she told “Oh right, you are new here. There was a rumor going on in the school that a girl died in the school and she was new here.”
I was shocked to hear that “How did the girl die?” I asked
“It was her first day of school just like you. The teachers let her go in alone and when she came, she started wandering around because she was curious about the school when she went to the auditorium, she died there, no one saw or knew her at that time. After a few hours, a student went to the auditorium and found himself seeing a dead girl he shouted and everyone gathered around to see what was happening. Everyone thinks that she died at 8 am in the school and no one should come to school at that time cause maybe they might die or be hunted by that girl who died.” She told
“So did you see the dead girl?” I asked
“Yes, I saw her. And the police could not find the culprit who killed her.” She replied
“Do you believe that you might die or be haunted?” I asked
“Ummm......not really. But it’s better to be safe than sorry so that’s why others did not come yet.” She told
“Then why are u not being safe?” I asked
“Cause I don’t want to, it will be fun if I break a few rules, right?” she said
“I guess,” I told.
Wow, Scarlett is really something. She is so different; would my other classmates be like this too?
“Scarlett, I am kinda scared. How can you even roam like this?” I said sighing
“I don’t believe in the rumor so why should I be scared? Besides, if they were true then shouldn’t I be dead by now?” Scarlett said smiling at me.
“What do u mean by ‘dead by now’?” I asked
“Oh well I have been roaming around the school at this time since these rumors started,” she said
“So that’s why you don’t believe them, but did you roam alone?” I asked. She nodded then I asked again “So then why were you still in the lobby if you could just go to the class?”
“It’s the first day of school. I have no reason to be alone and I got bored so I just started talking to the admins.” Scarlett said
Scarlett turned to me and told “Why don’t you stand here, I will use the washroom and come” She seemed a little off for some reason. I told ok and stayed as she went to the washroom.
I did not want to tell ok, I wanted to go with her but somehow, I told ok as if someone was controlling me. It seemed weird cause I never did anything I didn’t want to do but this is the first time. I did not think much about it.
I looked at the time it was 8:20. I was getting bored so I started counting the seconds. I counted to 300, I again looked at the time. My eyes widened when I saw the clock it was still 8:20. How, how can it be, it’s still 8:20? It possibly can’t be right, if I counted to 300 then 5 minutes have passed but it’s still 8:20. The clock must have gotten stuck is what I thought when I saw a butterfly frozen in the air. It was like time stopped. I was so shocked; my heart was beating very fast. I heard something like someone was hungry but very loud. I looked right, where I saw was written staff room, then I looked left where I saw the auditorium, seeing that gave me goosebumps. Did I believe the rumour Scarlett told but she doesn’t believe it so why should I? I turned back and saw a few classrooms then I turned towards the washroom...................
“AAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH” I screamed. I saw someone, it was a man.
I got scared, I fell backward, I started hearing something like ‘go Wes go’ and then I collapsed on the floor.
