THE END

The flames burned brighter with every passing second. Kate stood outside of the facility admiring her hard work, her hart was racing and her face was glowing red, not only from the fire she had started but from the anger she felt, she had pushed her emotions down for too long, and like a rat it had finally managed to burrow its way out of the prison she had created for it.

How dare they? She did everything right. Her whole life she was the golden child, the perfect candidate, the prodigy that proved the experiment wasn't just wasted government funding.

No. The foundation as they called it was meant to house inhumane experiments on children who didn't mean much to society, the whole idea of this institution would of course immediately be shut down and finding any ethical source of ethical funding would be impossible. Luckily the government isn't exactly knows for being ethical, so as long as nobody from outside has any access to the institution the experiments were allowed.

Kate was a nickname, her full name was Kathedeen Bennett, the second child of the Bennett triplets.

She was 6 when she developed her ability although it took the foundation staff almost 5 more years before they realized what it was. Her sisters, Cambroll and Adamarie were quick to show what they could do, but not Kate, her ability however had far more potential than anyone could have known.

47 of the 1903 patients and staff were lucky enough to evacuate the 300 story burning hospital. Kate watched them leave from a far, happy with what she had done.

They wouldn't get any help from the outside world since nobody knew this place existed, it was a shame though many of those patients were physically or mentally handicapped, a result of the botched experiments. Kate didn't feel Sorry for them though, no, she did them a favor. Those children were suffering for years and being burned in this manmade hell was a blessing, a blessing the administrators were to cruel to bestow apon the husks of living experiments.

How can someone actively make taht division?

How can someone create life just to know it wont be able to enjoy it's sad existence?

"But im the monster." Kate muttered to herself, turning away from the hospital.

She wouldn't have the luxury of a roof over her head or somewhat decent food in her stomach anymore, she threw that away in the fire, now she would have to take care of herself, unfortunately she had no experience or knowledge of the outside world and this would be her first time being truly alone. From now on she wont have anyone observing her from behind a glass wall, poking her to see what she might do, treating her like a animal or watchinh her every move from numerous cameras and documeting her. It wasn't like she was the only one though, everyone in the foundation was there for a reason, they were all special, some more than others but all of them were in the same boat.

Kate was known throughout the institution for many things, she was clever, very clever, she didn't loved to study and learn new things but she was good at it so she did just that she. She read more books than anyone else in the foundation and she was proud of her brain. The fraction she had lived in was based underneath germany. Built underground to keep it from being discovered. The german institution was built to develop candidates who were above average intellectually.

There are 5 facilities scattered around the world, each with their own purpose, the German intelligence development institution, the Argentinian hospital and asylum, the Russian physical strength development institution, the Australian laboratory build to test the candidates DNA and to create new test subjects and the Canadian institution focused on developing superhuman traits and documenting mutations found in the candidates.

Though she stood first in her class in nearly any subject she decided to take, she did have rivals, most notable was Mary Reginalds and Gilbert Geüse.

Mary was Kates closet rival, the two would make a big game out of who was better or who scored the most on their tests. It was in good fun mostly, but they weren't freinds, and they didn't get along , Mary felt she was better than Kate, she was very religious, that was understandable though, her abilities were dependent on it. She drew strength from religious articles and could channel into apparitions themed around her religion. She was a angel in the eyes of the administrators, she could literally take on the form and strength of a biblically accurate angel. She studied the Bible religiously and thought very highly of herself because of it, she felt she had to be as perfect as the god she learned to know, but also because she had to keep her name high. She was ashamed about it but had to admit she has a twin sister named Camilla.

The two of them had the exact same face, body and mutation, they had wide light blue eyes and plump rose colored lips, Mary had long midback leanth, straight, icy blond hair with pale skin like porcelain her face was always serious and she rarely spoke to anyone, while Camilla was loud and obnoxious, she was flirty and arrogant, she dressed in all back with extreme makeup, she never did her hair, shoulder leanth curly messy hair that she religiously dyed black. They were short and thin, not sickly but petite, mary had barely any muscle while Camilla was visibly toned. Camilla lived in the Canadian facility since she wasnt as intèlictually promising as Mary. They weren't the only twins to be split up like that, the Bennett triplets were split up aswell, Kate in germany, Cambroll in Russian and Addie in canada with Camilla, but the Reignalds especially were thankful for it.

Camilla chose Satanism while Mary chose Christianity, Mary protests agains her sister and the two of them fought often, but they were both powerful and if they were to go head to head in a fight Camilla would have a clear advantage because she had been training her ability her whole life. Mary was ashamed of her sister and hated who she chose to be.

Gilbert on the other hand was very average physically, light blond hair, not very tall but definitely above average, he was quiet and loved to gamble, almost as much as he loved women. Gilbert was the tipe of man who didn't care much for other people and when he got an idea into his mind nothing would stop him from getting what he wanted. They would whisper about him because no one ever knew what went on behind his devilish smirk and deep dark blue eyes that radiated his annoying overconfidence and pride. He was one if the few only children in the institution.

These 3 were the top candidates in the german institution and had the qualifications to show for it. Mary was a professional in biology, Gilbert a professional in mathematics while Kate was a professional in IT.

Kate didn't go to Germany when she was 6 like the others, she was first sent to Canada since the staff weren't completely sure what her mutation was, she staey there until she was 16 because her ability weren't clear to the staff. She figured it out though, and she realized how powerful she was far before she knew what to do with her gifts. She understood at that young age that she shouldn't gain the administrators attention with her mutation, but with something else sothat she wouldn't be kept on a tight leash, she was buying herself time.

So she worked hard, she studied day in and day out in a small concrete prison like room, ignoring the sounds of the other test subjects as they were training and building freindships with one another.

She studied hard everyday for years but it wasn't untill she turned 16 that things took a dramatic turn.

She realized, now mature and curious about herself that her ability was different to the others, she could do everything they did, she could replicate them and not only their bodies, no, she could copy their genetics and aply them to herself. She could memorize their genetic code and rewrite her own to be whoever she wanted to be. The only thing she would have to do is form a physical bond with them.

She realized she simply needed to touch someone to activate her mutation.
