Romance, lore, and pacing that just work
"I’m leaving my thoughts on the series right here. This review covers both The Crimson Moon and the second book, The Cobalt Sun. Both are thick, immersive novels that have a bit of everything: romance, action, and lore. The story follows Seven after she gets caught in a government 'sweep' and ends up trapped in a hidden vampire society. The Crimson Moon does a great job setting up how the society operates, while The Cobalt Sun dives way deeper into the background lore. I personally love really long novels, so I was thrilled that these gave the plot plenty of room to breathe. The writing is very good, and the pacing is honestly spot on. It’s not a frantic rush, but it never drags or gets boring either. The romance and the action blend together perfectly. It’s a great, well-written ride from start to finish. If you want a meaty vampire series with good stakes and awesome lore, you’ll absolutely love these."
