Colby Crossroads

After hours of laying peacefully asleep in the open field, Colby Williams woke up from his seemingly endless sleep. He rubbed his eyes and sat up, still dressed in the same attire he was in when he was killed in the Aether. The flashes of what happened hit him like a dagger, and he held his side which was still soaked or seemed to still be soaked in bright red blood where he was stabbed. He let out a sigh, as he began to miss them all, his husband, Blue Advik, his son, Ares Vale Advik, and poor Ebony Morningstar, how broken she must have been, blaming herself for the death he knew and saw coming. If only he could have seen them all before he left, and apologized for anything and everything, expressing all the love he wished to show, which he didn’t get much chance. His guilt, hurt, and heartache increased rapidly as he missed them dearly. He soon found himself starting to cry, tears dripping down his cheeks slowly as his face darkened. “Why do you cry?” A voice said calmly behind him, causing Colby to jump and scrabble to his feet. “Who are you?!?” Colby asks with a shaky voice, and yet it was not gentle nor harsh, as he intended on knowing. “I could ask you just the same” The voice chuckled lightly, as the leaves and grass around him shifted and rustled, though no figure could be seen. “If I wasn’t so smart I’d say you already know who I am,” Colby says, and the voice chuckled once again. “Indeed I do, welcome to the crossroads, Mr. Williams”
