Chapter 1

Lexi stared, wide-mouthed at the huge school, which stood at least a hundred and twenty feet tall. It was luxurious and modern. She was new to it. Her mother had dropped her off ten minutes ago and she was waiting outside the school for the school "guide" to lead her.

The September sunburned her pale skin. She was completely sun-kissed. She waited for a few more minutes. Many boys and girls passed by her, confused to see her standing there. She was extremely uncomfortable and apprehensive and troubled. Lexi stretched her leg.
A handsome boy, who was dressed in a 'rich' way stopped by to ask her what was wrong. That made the situation a bit awkward.
"I'm new here," she spoke so silently that the boy asked her to speak it again, a bit loudly.
"I'm new here," she told him, only a little louder. The boy smiled.
"Sophomore, junior or senior? I'm junior," he asked her.
"J-junior," she stuttered. She felt super awkward. The boy nodded.
"Are you waiting for Mrs. De Santa, she's the guide here," the boy said. When Lexi nodded, he told her that they were blocking the way, and they both changed positions. The boy left her to herself.
At last, Mrs. De Santa arrived and took Lexi inside.
The school was even bigger on the inside. The lockers were on either side of the hallway, but there were locker rooms too, individually for boys and girls. There were many students there.
Each of the years: freshman, sophomore, junior and senior had five different sections.
They were divided by colors. Each color was based on what grades you got. Green meant people who were promoted conditionally, Orange meant those who barely passed, Yellow meant average graders, Blue meant those who were improving, and Red included those who were A+ students.
Lexi was in the Red section.
Mrs. De Santa gave her the instructions and then left her to herself. The first thing to do was to find a locker. Up to five lockers were allowed. Lexi chose one free one in the hallway.
She kept the lock '12-12-06' which was her birthday. As she proceeded to get ready for the assembly, she felt even more uncomfortable. That was when the same boy almost bumped into her.
"Oops!" he said. "Sorry, was in a hurry,"
Lexi nodded, embarrassed.
"It's..........fine," she hissed.
"What's your name, anyway?" He asked her. She told him.
"I'm Finn, nice to meet you, but I have to go," and he strode away, running his hand in his wavy blonde hair.
Lexi felt herself blushing.

The assembly hall was filled with one thousand students. A huge number. There were one thousand chairs in there.
