Unexpected and utterly creepy (and romantic!)
"Let me start by saying this story genuinely scared me at some point. Perhaps the fact I was reading it alone at my house at night helped, but there's no denying there are some seriously creepy scenes in this novel. I wasn't so convinced after the first chapter, but after that, it kept getting more mysterious and suspenseful. What a great talent for storytelling! I was gutted by the ending but I guess it was inevitable. No matter how bittersweet, it was perfect."
