Chapter 1
**Kenna's POV (real Cora)**
Ten years ago I was sent to prison for a fifteen year sentence for committing a murder that I had no involvement with, I was sixteen at the time. I always had my suspicions on who framed me but no proof nor did I know the reason why. Two weeks ago I received my one and only visitor who turned out to be an FBI Agent Lyle Kelzer. The moment he said his last name I knew exactly who he was. The brother of Tyler, the person I loved most and also known as the person i'm in prison for supposedly killing. Only then did I get the answers to who and why, turns out I was right all a long.
My best friend Hazel Caldwell was responsible for sending me to person and according to FBI agent Lyle Kelzer the reason is so she could be free to take my identity. Also so she could gain access to my wealthy family that I had only found out about a week before I was sent to this hellhole. You see the two people I believed to be my parents died in a fatal car accident I was sent into the foster system. From the age of twelve to fifteen I was bounced around one foster home to the next, each worse then the previous one. My last foster home is where I met Hazel who became like a sister to me, during that time I met Tyler Kelzer. Long story short Tyler and I fell fast and hard for one another which is when Hazel and I ran away from our worst foster home and moved in with him. I bet you're wondering why after ten years is the fact that I was wrongly convicted coming out. Well the answer is because of recent multiple murders with the same M.O as Tyler's murder. After finding the common factor of each victim was Cora Gambino, Lyle realized I was framed which brought him here to me.
He came with an opportunity for me to be released from prison as long as I agreed to work uncover and infiltrate my family as Kenna Anderson. He gave me a once in a lifetime opportunity to clear my name and if I succeed in my mission to gain my freedom. However if I fail i'll be back in prison where i'll have to ride out my last years so the stakes are high. The day after agreeing I was released and taken to a FBI training facility where I've been training for the past two weeks and tonight is the night my mission begins. Lyle and I are sitting in the living room of my nice New York apartment when he begins to go over the ground rules.
Agent Lyle Kelzer- Alright rule number one you have to check in every other day or I'll have no choice but to come and arrest you, automatically ending the mission.
Kenna (real Cora)- I won't miss a check in.
Agent Lyle Kelzer- Rule number two before doing anything involving criminal activity it has to be confirmed by me.
Kenna (real Cora)- And if my life and or cover relies on it..
Without giving me a chance to finish he interrupts and speaks.
Agent Lyle Kelzer- You don't do a thing without my permission Cora, these's no second chances. So if you don't wont to end back up in prison from another crime I suggest you find a way to bide time until you get the go ahead from me.
Kenna (real Cora)- Understood!
Agent Lyle Kelzer- Have you chosen your target for tonight?
Kenna- (real Cora)- Memphis!
Agent Lyle- Good choice he's your brother's most trust person but be aware he'll be harder to hook.
Kenna (real Cora)- (squints eyes studying Lyle) You don't think I can complete this mission do you?
Agent Lyle- Honestly no, but for your sake I hope you prove me wrong.
Kenna (real Cora)- I will!
Agent Lyle- If you say so...( pulls out a watch) Alright here, wear this watch. If you run into danger press this button (points) and it'll send an SOS alert to my phone with your location and i'll come rescue you right away, also ending the mission.
Kenna (real Cora)- I would rather die than use the sos button and i'm not going back to prison. So there's only two options for me, completing the mission or dying.
Agent Lyle- Alright time to get ready I'll leave your phone, credit card and cash on the table, check in with me tomorrow morning.
Kenna (real Cora)- Okay!
I walk into the bedroom, shutting the door and head into the bathroom to shower. After I'm finished I dry off wrapping the towel around me and walk back into my bedroom where I start getting ready.
**Memphis's POV**
I'm Memphis Oakley, best friends with Knox Gambino and also his second in command. Knox is the boss of the Gambino crime family which is one out of the five New york crime families. We have many operations and businesses including strip clubs, gambling dens and casinos and much more however we are the cleanest of the five families. Knox makes sure all our girls are treated right and no prostitution is allowed in his organization. We do everything in our power not to have to kill but sometimes there's just no other way. Ten years ago Knox's sister Cora was found and brought home but for some reason she's always rubbed me the wrong way. Knox loves his sister but he enjoys it when she's busy which is why he gave her control over the strip club, he also figured a female boss would treat the girls better. Tonight our main crew is heading to our club "Diamond Slayer" for a night of drinking to let loose considering it's been a busy few weeks trying to find our girl Sienna's killer. By nine thirty our group of eight enters the club walking right up to our VIP room that looks down over the entire club. After a few minutes of entering the VIP room our waitress Aubrey walks in and takes our order. Mila and Cora started pre drinking before we left the house so they didn't wait for their drinks instead they headed straight for the dance floor. After receiving our drinks the guys and I are shit talking enjoying our night when my cell goes off which I automatically check. That's when I see a text from Cora.
Cora (Aka Hazel) - (text) Hey sexy i'm ready for that dance you owe me!
Memphis- I'm not, maybe later!
Cora (Aka Hazel)- No maybe. Don't make me come up there and dance on your ass in front of the guys because I will!
Memphis- (text) One dance give me five minutes.
I slip my cell back into my pocket and take a few big swings of my bourbon when Knox speaks.
Knox- You alright man?
Memphis- Yeah your sister's at it again.
Demetrius- Then get you ass down there before she comes up here!
Knox, Demetrius and I laugh when Demetrius says "Haha I'm serious yall". I stand up taking my last gulp of bourbon sitting the glass down the stairs towards the dance floor looking for her and just as I step onto the main flor I spot her. She turns around spotting me smiling as she uses her pointer finger seductively motioning me over. As I close the gab between us she begins swaying her hips drawing me in to the best of her ability. We begin dancing together when she turns her back to me pressing her ass on me as she turns her head looking back over her shoulder trying to seduce me. I play along through the song and the moment a new one begins I gently remove her arm pushing her back a little and speak.
Memphis- Times up (winks) enjoy. (walks off)
Cora (Aka Hazel)- Ah come on!
I ignore her continuing to walk off the dance floor but just as I hear someone calling my name I turn my head to see who it is, I accidentally bump into someone.
Without even thinking my arm reaches out snaking around the persons back stopping them from falling. However the moment I lift the person up I come face to face with a pair pf beautiful piercing dark teal eyes, some what grey shade to them. I end up staring at the beautiful woman while my arm remains around her back, after a few moments pass she speaks snapping me out of my weird trance like state.
Kenna (real Cora)- Thanks for the quick asset but you can let go now! (slight smile)
Memphis- Your welcome. (let's go)
As i'm about to say something else the same voice calls my name which I quickly turn towards instantly noticing it's Angelo Genovese. I hold up my finger motioning him to give me one minute then I turn back to the woman.
Memphis- I'll be seeing you around. (grins)
This time she flashes her beautiful genuine smile that literally made my heart skip a beat and speaks.
Kenna (real Cora)- Maybe, maybe not!
Without wasting a second she walks off heading straight for the main bar so I walk over to Angelo. Once I reach him we shake hands and I position my body in line with the bar keeping her in y view as I speak to Angelo.
Memphis- What's gong on man, you don't usually come out.
Angelo Genovese- I'm not trusting communication lines right now.
Memphis- What's got you spooked Angelo?
Angelo Genovese- Your boy's sister! You want to tell me why i'm hearing she's meeting up with Brandon Lucchese alone, three times a week?
Memphis- Considering your here in front of me I assume your source is reliable so to put you at ease i'll say this... No one has given her an order to do so nor permission.
Angelo Genovese- In that case I'll give you all a week to get to me with answers on what's going on.
Memphis- A week got it!
Angelo doesn't say another word instead he turns and walks off. I follow him with my eyes until he exits the club then I quickly send a message to Knox informing him. Knox quickly responds and the message reads like this "Nine AM my office we'll get to the bottom of the matter". Knowing i'm free from business for the night I look back towards the main bar and see her still sitting there. I watch in the shadows for a few minutes and come to the conclusion she's alone so I walk over to her.
