Chapter 1
Blinded by the red and blue blinking lights, Jennie rubbed her toffee brown eyes whilst also trying to cover her ears from the loud shouts and the never-ending sirens. Many police cars and ambulances were scattered around in the amusement park. A malfunctioned ride had left many people injured. Staring at the ground, she felt the butterflies flying around in her stomach and she began to tremble. Although she was not injured, she feared for her best friend Lisa who was missing.
Ring, ring Jennie glanced at her phone and smiled as the butterflies disappeared when she saw Lisa calling her. “Where are you?” Jennie asked looking around. “I’m at the park gate, where are you?” Lisa answered. “I’m at the gate, but I can’t see you” Jennie replied. “Hi!” Lisa shouted. Jennie turned around and gasped when she saw her friend’s face. Lisa’s raven black hair started to stick to the thick blood on her pale skin that started to seep through a bandage which covered a gash that ran down the side of her face. “Are you okay?” Jennie asked. “Yea, it’s actually not as bad as it looks!” Lisa responded. “Do you need a ride, my car’s parked on the other side” Lisa added. “No, it’s okay I feel like walking” Jennie said. “Okay, be safe!” Lisa replied walking towards her car.
