Ep1 before and after
Hey. my name is Jade. I live in a small town called Ashford in Ohio and let me tell you a story. you probably won't believe me. or this story. But it's a Friday and I'm walking home from school like always. It's about a 30-minute walk from my house so it won't be too bad. Surprisingly I bump into one of my friends.
"Jessie," I say "oh it's you". She replies "what are you doing here," I say "oh nothin much just hanging out I guess," She says. I don't think she seems interested. But ok. Suddenly I feel someone tap my shoulder. I look behind and it's Norman. "Hey what do you wanna do tonight," he says. "I don't know maybe," I say but before I could add another word in Jessie interrupts me. "Maybe summon demons. Curses hm," she says "ok then," Norman says.
"My parents aren't home until next Tuesday," I say Friday at 3:00 pm. As we go home for the school public holiday we stumble across my gate and into the house. I open the door to the hallway. I kick off my shoes and stride to the living room. "What do you want to do," Norman says "I don't know," I reply. "Stay up to 3 in the morning," Jessie interrupts. we look at her and nod. 4:13 pm I walk to my room. I scavenge around for something in some draws. I pick out 3 ps4 controllers.
I pick up the remote for the tv and press the red button. The tv screen beams on. I set the HDMI to 2 the screen goes black. Then a moment later the ps4 logo shoots in. Then it takes me to the Home Screen. Norman and Jessie picks up the ps4 remotes. I turn the joystick to one of the games. Minecraft of course. 7:40 pm my hands are sweating. I look over to Norman. his button mashing.
I turn my joystick to run away. My character's hunger bar goes down. By one. "Give me back my diamond," Norman cries. No, I reply. I go back to my Minecraft house and shut the door. Suddenly I hear a hissing sound from the tv. Than boom. My Minecraft house of cobble is gone. I'm on 4 hearts. I draw out my iron sword and shield. I jump behind him and start to spam the trigger button. Suddenly. The house goes pitch black. Jessie turns on her phone light. I feel around for my phone.
Ah, I found it. I press the home button and swipe up. I press on a light icon. A beam of light flashes. 8:00 pm. "Oh god". I say. We search around the house for the fuse box. Finally, I found it I reach for the counter and grab two fuses. I open the fuse box to find that. All of the fuses are gone. We all stare in confusion. "What the hell just happened," Norman says oh well I guess we need to hunt for fuses. We go on a search around the house but before I do that I insert the two other fuses in the fuse box. One more to go I tell myself. "Split up I say we might find it easier," I say didn't think anything of it. Suddenly my stomach rumbles.
I go to the pantry and pick out marshmallows. I open each draw in the kitchen. Nothing here. Suddenly Jessie calls me and Norman over. We follow her voice into the laundry room. "I found it," she whispers great. we now go back to the hallway to the fuse box. Jessie gives me a fuse. I pick it from her hand and insert it into an empty slot. I flick the switch. The lights turn back on "finally. light" Norman cries 8:30 pm we go back to gaming. suddenly I reach into the packet of marshmallows.
Gone. Norman and I stumble back to the kitchen. We open the pantry. And as I was about to get some more snacks out. Something crashes from the attic. "You hear that," I say "yeah," Norman says staring back at me. his eyes widen. Jessie bursts out from the room "what was that" she cries it came from the attic. "Oh gosh," she says. We go get the long stick for the attic. Mum and dad never wants me to go up here. I wonder why. I fish the hook to the trapdoor and lift it up. Suddenly dust swooshes out.
"Doesn't your parents not want to go up here?" Jessie says "that changed now" I add suddenly a ladder folds open from the attic. We climb in and enter the attic. One by one. I help Norman up. It's dark. The air smells sour. it's awful. But warm. I feel the wooden panels. And it has a warm sensation to it. I stop in my tracks to find that pink fluffy stuff oozing out from the wall. I feel around for the light switch.
Finally, I found it. I switch it up. The light turns on. Suddenly. we now see what made the loud noise. Old plates very old are smashed all over the floor My stomach turns. A horrific thought comes to mind. Mum and dad will kill me if they see this. "Oh shit," Norman says "indeed," Jessie says. Suddenly. I turn my attention to some chest. I go closer to it. Jessie and Norman come up behind me. I spot a note on it. It says the location of the key.
It says it's in a box somewhere around here. Maybe we'll find gold. Gems. We would be rich. Or so we think. I spot an open box. I look inside. it has an old key. "This must be left by the previous owners," Jessie says I pick up the key and insert it into the keyhole of the chest. Click. It opens. But instead of expecting lots of bars of gold and jewellery. Some photos of some park laid flat along with a note that says "find the location on this photo and may your prayers be answered" it says.
"This must be where it wants us to go," Jessie cries. "You think" Norman replies we climb down the attic and close the trapdoor. Mum dad I hope you don't find out what is happening. We go into my room and grab stuff like flashlights and other stuff. "You know what. Let's go to my place," Jessie says "ok," Norman says excitingly.
We follow Jessie to the front door I put on my shoes and go out the door. Well. We follow Jessie up the footpath to her house at 8:5o pm we finally arrive at Jessie's house it looks alright. I guess. We open the door and go in "shhh my parents are asleep. And if you hear someone talking. That's my brother". She says. We follow Jessie into her room. She opens the door to a dark edgy room. Instantly I spot white monster cans stacked up like a pyramid. Jessie goes to her closet. She opens it to reveal. Three samurai swords. Or katanas. One of them has a black handle. with a purple skull on it. the blade shines from the light teeming with life.
She pulls out the second one. that has a green and white handle. with some symbol on it. she lays the two on the bed and gets out the third one. Its handle is white and gold. she puts the last one on the bed. Suddenly she gives me one of those thingys you store your katana in. I think it's called a scabbard. It's black with a Chinese dragon on it. Then she gets Norman one. That's only black purple red and gold. She pulls a third one out. "You might need this," she says. I click on the scabbard onto my hip. Jessie and Norman do the same thing. Then we go out.
I check my phone it's at full charge. It's 100 percent. we go down the road to the park in that photo. That park has some paranormal activity. why are we going here. 9:00 pm we have finally reached the end of the road. I see the park in the distance. The lights beamed as the park has a sense of loneliness. The swings in the park swings stay dormant. The park is like a ghost town. And the slide's red colour is still visible in the daylight. But would that change at night?. Suddenly something grabs my attention. What looked like a naginata with blades on each end it's wedged in between a rock. Next to it is a white oni demon mask with gold irises and black pupils. I don't know how to explain this but. It's almost like it's calling to me. I ignore it and quickly go back to the others Jessie holds the photo of the park in front of the other park they both look identical. We all enter the lonely ghost town. The park still dormant at night. Suddenly a big crunching sound comes from the bushes.
We all draw out our katanas out. Suddenly the bushes shake. and struggle more and more until. A cat jumps out. "Hey isn't that one of the neighbour's cats". Norman says. "Probably," I say. "Umm so why did the photo take us here," Jessie cuts in. I don't know. Just keep looking I say. I look near the swing set. Nothing here just a pile of cans and rubbish. And someone's shoes on the frame of the swing set. Suddenly I see a folded piece of paper. In the red air maxes. I pull it out from the shoe and open it up. It says "to whoever is reading this, I just don't think life is worth it. So will death redeem me. Will I see roses of red?". Someone died in this area. Suicide maybe.
No wonder this place is so haunted. Suddenly one of the swings starts to slowly move on its own. It's probably just wind. Or I assume. "Come here," Jessie says. Norman and I quickly stumble to Jessie. "I think I found what we are looking for," she says. I look down and I spot something emitting an extraterrestrial glow. Of green. Jessie kneels down to dig away the sand. Her eyes widen. But why? Is this dangerous? Is it cursed? Well, let's find out. "Why did we come for this". Norman says "it's not what you think it is" Jessie replies. 9:20 pm. "What is it," I say Jessie stays silent for a moment. "Jade. I don't think you understand.
If this goes into the wrong hands it will unleash a curse. That might not be able to be stopped". Jessie says. "Is there anyone who knows more about this?" I say. "I know someone who can help," Jessie replies. "Really. who" Norman and I say. "It's been a long time since we've seen each other again. But he knows about all sorts of curses and folklore," Jessie says. She picks it up and puts it in her bag. The glow emits from inside her bag. We stride down the road. 9:50 pm. We've been walking for thirty minutes now. And we. Reach a seven eleven.
We walk closer. On the lonely footpath. The whole store seems like a ghost town. Barely anyone is there. The lights start to flicker. We take a few steps inside. Suddenly I look behind me and there is some figure across the road. I ignore it. Its red glowing eyes take me by surprise. it feels almost pulling. But I go inside anyways. We walk in between one of the small isles in the seven eleven store. We all go to the drink aisle. I grasp a bottle of mt dew. We take all what we can. Soft drinks. Lollies and snacks. We all are stacked. We all go up to the counter. Greeted to a woman in her twenties. We all put all our supplies on the counter and the woman starts to scan them.
We all give her seventy dollars. I undo the bottle cap and start to drink. Refreshing. I put the cap back on and unzip my bag. I place the half-full bottle of mt dew in my bag. And zip it back up. We open the door and step out. I see the same figure out there. again its eyes are a greenish-yellow colour. "Agh crack heads," Norman cries. "Um that doesn't look like a crack head," I say Jessie turns to me and Norman while we are walking. "Um, I think that's the curse" Jessie replies. "A curse" Norman cries. "Shhh don't talk about it or look at it. It'll follow us more" She replies. "Why," I say. "Because have you seen the secret curse. They say if you look at it for too long or make eye contact it will follow you home and curse you.
And unless you protect this amulet with your life it won't bother you." Jessie replies. Well this won't end well for me, we walk down the footpath. Suddenly I hear a call from behind me. "Jade. Jade come here" it says. Suddenly before I look around Jessie stops me. "Don't look behind you. It trying to curse you with its touch. If you hear someone call your name ignore it and keep going". I take a deep breath and keep walking. The tension to look behind me is killing me. Suddenly red eyes appear from across the road. I ignore it. I keep going. I feel scared. I keep hearing the voice keep replaying over and over again. Jade. Stop. wait for me. I keep walking I look at Jessie and shes oddly calm.
Suddenly I hear foot stops following us. "Just ignore it jade". Jessie says. The tension is real. I start to feel lightheaded. I suddenly feel a pulling presence. I walk slower"There it is," Jessie says quietly. As we reach some shop front. The whispering stopped. I don't look behind me. Still We open the door and we are greeted with an old man. Um, George. Have you ever seen or heard of it. This Jessie says. She pulls out the glowing amulet decorated with the four gems from her bag. George squints his eyes at the glowing symbol. He looks even more shocked. "You might have released a dark witch upon this town. Unless you stop it.
You will be safe". He replies Suddenly Jessie makes one of those we aren't safe faces. We'll find this witch and trap it. George gives back the amulet. We walk near the door. Jessie grasps the golden doorknob. We all walk down the street. I feel like we are being watched. 10:00 pm. We searched for what seemed to be hours. "Maybe I should go home," Norman says "knock yourself out," Jessie says "I think we should search at the park," Jessie says as we walk along the path. As we walk to the haunted park Jessie mentions something. "If something happens to me.
Tell George that I did this with honour". She says which is really confusing. Finally, we reached the lonely park. Suddenly we hear footsteps ascending fasting and faster. We draw out katanas out at the same time. Nothing there. Suddenly the lights flicker. As they flicker the fifth time some figure with a crow mask with long horns and some upside-down pentagram and a gothic-looking jacket. Slowly draws out their katana. "It's varin ," Jessie cries. We ready our blades to fight. Suddenly the figure charges at us with a staff with gothic charms on it and a moon symbol Jessie. She sidesteps. The figure and swings her blade at its leg. It jumps out of the way. It throws some pentagram shaped projectiles at her. Jessie moves out the way. I sneakily go up behind him and try to stab it.
But it moves my blade away. And back handsprings away. "This is harder than I thought," I say suddenly it walks towards me. Slowly. I ready my blade. Varin draws a blade out and swings. I quickly parry it. But Varin forces her blade. Pushing deeper and deeper. The blade is almost touching my throat piercing. I look around for something I could use to my advantage. Nothing. I quickly sweep Varin. She moves away. I quickly charge at her and swing. Let's just say that is terrible. She quickly sidesteps away from me Jessie follows up behind her. She does a sword swing. But varin parries. And kicks her. She throws her to the floor. Suddenly varin puts his hand up like he is controlling something. Suddenly Jessie's bag unzips and outcomes the amulet. Suddenly a chain appears on two of the handles of the amulet.
We quickly get up. But it's too late because varin disappears. "What just happened," I say no this is bad this is bad this is very bad". Jessie says "let's get it back before anything else happens," I say "yeah. But how" Jessie replies "we search for her," I say "ugh fine we start where all things happen," Jessie says 10:30 we arrive at my school. God, I hate going back here.
