Summary

Angela She was forced into marriage with Felix Felix Notorious playboy Lucifer The Devil ------------- “… and I thought that maybe we could come to an agreement where you marry me to save me from an impending marriage with Felix?” I ended my speech with the last part coming out not in the way I wanted it to. Lucifer stared at me aghast, not bothering to hide his emotions. I guess my request was a bit too bold and unexpected. I watched him nervously waiting for his answer. “Yes.” He finally said. I breathed out a huge sigh of relief until he continued speaking. “However, I expect you to perform the duties of a wife to utmost perfection. I am currently in need of a wife.” He told me in a clipped tone. -------------

Chapter 1: Unexpected News

“Angela you have to marry Felix.” mother reiterated, emphasizing the ‘have’. Gaping, I looked up at my mother, still unable to comprehend that statement.

My eye twitched. “ Sorry? Did I hear you correctly?” I asked after shaking myself out of my daze. My mother palmed her face and shot me an exasperated look. That’s when I felt all hope draining from my face. She is serious…

“B-but why?” I choked out

“Nothing of importance.” my mother dismissed, her expression immediately turning jaded. Collecting my wits, I mustered up a weak smile before scurrying off to my room knowing nothing I say will be able to change her mind.

The moment I entered my room, I face planted on the bed, panicking like a cockroach with a serious dose of insecticide. It is common knowledge that every panicking cockroach drenched in insecticide will die. However, what is not common knowledge is the fact that this cockroach is immortal. After dying, this cockroach reincarnates.

Felix… He is a big egotistical bastard. Everyone in the industry knows how reknowned he is for being a notorious playboy. The only reason why his father refuses to pass down the title of CEO to him is because of that very reason. And that very reason is why I am repulsed at the idea of marrying him. Sooner or later he is going to end up cheating on me. I definitely do not want a cheater as my husband. Presently, my current knowledge about that bastard is not helping my current situation at all. Instead, it brings me closer and closer into morphing into a panicking cockroach.

Right now as I stared up at the ceiling, I pondered on the multitude of reasons as to why my parents would force me into an arranged marriage with Felix. The only plausible reason being them wanting to use me for their own benefit. Not to mention that they seem to think matching me with him is good for me and that I should appreciate it. ’A female can never go far in the industry anyway ’ my lips pulled back into a sneer as that side comment invaded my thought process. After all, they had Aiden. To them, I was purely accidental while Aiden was a blessing. All because he was male. I sniffled, tears unknowingly trailing down my cheeks.

Blinking back tears, I sat up and decided to stop welling in misery. I let out big shaky breaths and tried to get my feelings under control as I made a beeline for the library.

Later during the day, I was relaxing in the library reclined on the couch when I heard a familiar obnoxious voice echoing throughout the hallways of the manor. “Angela… Where are you…” it went. I furrowed my brows trying to figure out where I heard that voice from. My eyes widened when I caught sight of someone walking swiftly past the library when I realised who it was. Immediately, all thoughts of my book flew out of my head as I wrecked my brain for ways to escape Felix. I was certainly not mentally prepared to meet him or marry him either.

Just then, I heard the door to the library open further. In a flash, I had dropped my book on the couch and scampered to a bookshelf trying to put as much distance between him and me as possible. I heard his footsteps stop. Slowly, I peeked out from behind the bookshelf only to find him looking at me. The smirk widened on his face and he swaggered to me. Frantically, I looked around furtively in an attempt to look for escape routes. I cursed realising it was a dead end. If I did not do something fast, he would corner me in a matter of seconds. I looked at him and the narrow passageway we were in.

Without a second thought, I sprinted to him brushing past him and out of the library. Once I turned down to another corridor, I paused, catching my breath, cursing again when I heard the doors to the library slam shut.

“ Angela… Where are you…” Felix sang a hint of barely masked anger being heard as he wandered down the halls of the house. I panicked and rushed towards the front door in a blatant attempt to escape from the tyrant not caring if he caught sight of me.
