Chapter 1
It was their third anniversary, and Abel wanted to do something pleasant for Anna. He decided to propose to her. He had thought about it and decided that he had to make this very big decision and wanted to spend the rest of his life with Anna.
Abel was a young man in his late twenties. He was a very good-looking and huge man. He was also hairy and had curved lips and eyebrows. It was one Friday night when he called Anna and told her to meet him at a restaurant. He had hired the restaurant for the night, and when Anna came in, everywhere was lovely, organized, and designed with pink and white roses. She walked majestically to where Abel was sitting, smiling widely.
"Darling, you shouldn't have..." Abel immediately stood up and gave her a warm hug, her fragrance wafting over him.
"We have been so busy that I haven't had time to take you on the right date." He kissed her hand, and Anna blushed and touched her hair sheepishly. Abel stood up and drew a chair backwards, motioning for her to sit, which she promptly did. He gestured with his hand and some chefs came with a big plate of meals.
"What is a date without food?" Abel smiled and Anna, who could not stop blushing, said nothing. She had been speechless ever since she came in and had simply been smiling and nodding. It was not like it was unlike Abel, it was just very surprising. The men opened the big plates and there was rice, chicken and soup.
"Oh, my favourite combination, what would I do without you, Abel?" she blushed again.
"You know, I never really expected this. I don't even know what to say"
"You don't even need to mention anything. I am ready to prove to your parents what a very good man and husband I can be to you..."
"Husband..." Before she could finish her sentence, Abel got down on his knees and brought out a ring, opened it and gestured it close to Anna.
"Yes, will this young, lovely lady sitting in front of me be my wife?", Anna opened her mouth, shocked. She had waited for this moment for so long and she thought she could only dream of it. She repeatedly nodded, wanting to say yes, but the words couldn't come out of her mouth.
"YES! YES!" She shouted and stretched her hand as Abel slipped the ring onto her finger and hugged and kissed her several times. Abel's phone beeped. He picked it up from the table as it reads,
"You have 3 messages from Amanda." He immediately placed the cellphone down and stared back at Anna.
"Is there something wrong?" Anna requested concern over
"Oh, it's just one of my buddies. He fought with his girlfriend and probably needs some advice."
"I think you should call him. I'll be here eating and waiting," Anna said as she slowly sat down, gesturing to Abel to go on as he walked a few steps away from her. He turned on his phone again and opened the three messages that were written.
"Hey!!! Where the f#vk are you? "
"I am pregnant and I want you to come right now!"
"Please, I want you right now." As he read it, he could not believe his eyes. On the one hand, he thought Amanda was only saying it to make him come to her, and on the other hand, he knew it may be true. He became uneasy as he walked back to Anna. He didn't know what to tell her to make her want to go home right away, and Anna already felt the uneasiness in him.
"Are you alright?" She asked, but he became lost in thought, so he didn't hear her. She stood and went close to him, touching his shoulders before he got back to himself and gasped.
"Seems like you didn't get good news babe" Anna assumed, he looked at her and smiled broadly, looking for words to say.
"Yeh... Um... I did..." He stammered, making Anna suspicious.
"My friend's girlfriend got into an accident, and he said he wants me to come now." Abel subsequently stated
"Of course, don't you think we should go together?" Anna suggested but Abel held her hand and kissed her cheek.
"I would have loved to, but I think he wants me right now, just me..." He began running out of words, but Anna relieved him and she said she understood the situation. She agreed to let him drive her home; however, he had to promise her that the next time he went to the hospital, he would bring her with him. Abel hugged Anna as he led her to his car and drove her home.
