“Should love exist to bring pain?” A question no one, not even her beloved father, could answer.

She was whipped and bruised with open wounds. Gold seeped down like blood from her fragile body. Bended on her knees, hair unraveled, tangling across half of her face. The court of deities, elders, ministers, generals, soldiers, close friends, and family watched her trial.

“Tell me, Father!” she yelled.

Emperor Jin clenched his fist. His anger was kindled against her.

“Mingmei, you’ve violated the law, brought shame and dishonor to the Heavenly Realm. Falling in love with a mortal and bearing his child! Your daughter will be severely punished for your crime.”

“No! Don’t you dare lay a hand on your granddaughter! I will destroy the realm if you tried that,” Mingmei threatened, melting the chains and fiery energy engulfing her body with a monstrous aura.

The Water Realm, Turtle Sect leader, Emperor Shao, and the Demonic Tower Realm, Sect Leader General Zhang Wei, were ready to ambush the court but halted the attack and decided to kidnap the abandoned goddess, the Emperor’s daughter.

As soon as Mingmei drew her sword and attacked her father. They ambushed the imperial court. A massive war among the realm leaders started. Elders and deities allied with the Heavenly Realm fought against Shao, Zhang Wei, and their soldiers. Emperor Jin and Mingmei fought each other until Jin’s sword was thrust into her chest. Everyone stopped as the earth shook violently. Jin was shocked that he hurt his only daughter, given to him by his late wife, Empress Mei. He promised to protect their child from the Mortal Realm, the Lotus Sect, who almost killed her when she was journeying in the martial art world.

“Mingmei?” He said shockingly.

She cried, and her tears dropped like crystal lotus golden flowers floating in the air. Before she exploded into golden dust as she answered, “You’ll never find her, Father...” Her eyes shut as she smiled and died, sending a beam of light into space, notifying the world that their sun goddess was dead.

“No!” Emperor Jin cried out as the blast pushed him away as his generals came to his rescue, creating a barrier over them as Emperor Shao and General Zhang Wei and their men escaped through a teleportation portal.

Heavenly Generals Zhao and Tang tried to comfort him.

“Emperor, the dynasty will be weak if you are not strong,” General Tang said.

“Your decree is made. Don’t regret it, Emperor,” General Zhao added.

“My daughter is my regret. The pain I’ve caused her mother in her grave is unbearable. How can I be a strong ruler if I’ve lost my precious flowers?” Emperor Jin said, stabbing his sword into the marble gold floor. He sighed, and the generals were saddened by his response.

“Then be a great grandfather to Princess Mingmei’s daughter. She carries Empress Mei’s and Mingmei’s blood. She is the only heir to the throne now. You must protect her if you want the Heavenly Realm and Sun Dynasty to survive,” Zhao mentioned.

“I’m sure Shao and Zhang Wei will try to attack again,” General Tang warned.

Emperor Jin sighed; he knew General Zhao and General Tang were right.

“Then she can’t be weak or an underachiever. I won’t acknowledge her unless she surpassed all martial art sect leaders and awakened her power as the new Phoenix Sun Goddess. A true, honorable princess of Sun Dynasty,” Emperor Jin stated.

“What will you do, Emperor?” General Zhao asked.

“Find her,” Emperor Jin said. “Let’s check the Eternal Records. Mingmei must have hidden her in the Mortal Realm,” he added.

“Her lover, Xiao Ten is dead since we executed him. Then the child must be with foreign mortals,” General Tang said.

“Let’s go,” Emperor Jin replied.

“Yes, Your Majesty,” General Zhao and General Tang answered.

Teleporting to the Eternal Records of History library, Deity, Liberian Fang was summoned at their arrival.

“Your Majesty, Generals! How can I help you?” Deity, Liberian Fang asked.

“Do you have any records of Mingmei’s last visit to the Mortal Realm? She had a child with her,” Emperor Jin explained.

Fang used his telekinesis power and grabbed the strolls from the top shelf.

“Yes, she visited the Mortal Realm earlier before you caught her and sentenced her to death in the Moon Iron Hole,” he answered.

“Where did she hide her child?” General Zhao asked.

Fang opened the stroll. It showed a digital hologram scenery of Mingmei using her aging power, transforming herself into an old lady, placing her child, whom she called Xiao Tien Sun Hei, in a basket among bread. She had bronze color skin that glowed like the sunshine.

“Xiao Tien Sun Hei? Sun Hei?” Emperor Jin repeated, watching the little girl smile at his daughter, who wiped her tears.

“I wish father would have loved you. Maybe one day you’ll make him proud and become a fine warrior, my child, Sun Hei,” she kissed her forehead and sealed Empress Mei’s, her mother’s celestial golden phoenix sword, Li Jie, inside her.

“Li Jie, she’s your new master now. Protect her always but in disguise until she really needs help reveal yourself, okay,” Mingmei said.

Li Jie, the sword glowed in her and accepted his duty. He can also transform into a mischievous handsome man.

“She took the Celestial Golden Phoenix Sword, Li Jie, and made Sun Hei, its master?” General Zhao said.

“Now that’s an unstoppable destructive pair,” General Tang added.

Emperor Jin smirked, “She’ll be the spitting image of Mingmei’s character. Let her keep the sword. It’s her mother’s only gift to her.”

“Yes, Emperor,” the Generals answered.
