What a lie people live. You have to be smarter, prettier, skinnier. You have to make more money than your neighbor. You have to hide away the dysfunctional parts of your life for no one to ever know. But what happens when the dysfunctional parts of your life become unruly? Then you’re labeled as depressed, mentally unstable and you’re forced to watch all the cookie cutter drones judge your every mistake and trouble. “Push it behind the curtain. Go on with the show and never let them know. Never let them see the monsters you hold inside.” But since we’re humans and we were designed to make mistakes, that damn curtain falls open and those little bastards come tumbling out and always at the most inconvenient times. In the supermarket line in front of your priest, standing in line at a fast food joint, or at your sister’s reception dinner in front of every relative and friend you’ve ever known. Damn you Darkness… sigh… That mint chiffon dress was hideous anyways. So here’s to the select few of us forever stuck in the FUBAR Club. Stay strong my crazies, don’t let your little monsters run your life. Instead join them, see what crazy shit you can get into.

I just finished reading your story Scars and I loved it so much. Your writing is raw and evocative, and I kept thinking how compelling it would look as a comic/manga.
I really loved the opening epigraph, where Rachel Taylor reflects on the societal pressures and the hidden struggles people face. The way you set the tone for the story, highlighting the internal battles and the judgment from others, creates a powerful foundation that would translate beautifully into visual storytelling.
I’m a commissioned artist, and I’d love to draw your story into a comic/manga. No pressure though, I just think your work would look awesome in comic form.
