Death drifts in by the lake
Claire Moore perfectly ordinary secondary school teacher other than the fact she was clumsy and hated children and her job. She had long brown hair, wide eyes and a wonderfully happy smile. Well, it is all is true for except for the bit about her job and children. The truth is Claire loves teaching and wouldn’t change that for the world. Although She does love like to say dark things like ‘At least this time it is not the head of children I am cutting’ she said this while using a guillotine in-front of 10-year-olds… So, maybe just possibly she isn’t as innocent as she appears!
As I mentioned Claire is little clumsy but saying that would be an understatement. So, to correct myself, Claire Is the the definition of clumsy. Sometimes she falls over an invisible hurdle; she’ll probably be her own grim reaper. Maybe even other peoples!
Claire teaches English to many problematic classes. She often has to confide in her friend Gina. Gina is a short woman with long brown hair and always there for Clair. One day Claire finishes the day by confiding in Gina after teaching her most hated class but forgets that she has many other responsibilities. After her cloud of forgetfulness fades, she realises that she hasn’t prepared any lessons for Monday. I should tell you; Claire loves 2 things more than her own children: money and chocolate. Preparing lessons would not be allowed by her limited pay... but she couldn’t leave it for Saturday! After all, doesn’t she have to go to the boat house?
In end she does stay, tiring herself almost to death. As tired as she may be, she had to get herself home. Home to a dinner (lovingly prepared by her husband) and a cold, soft bed. Wearily, she drove home while her clumsiness almost caused the death of, not only of herself, but a group of innocent children. She was like a walking hazard sign! She should wear a badge that says ‘Caution, Dangerous person’. Driving past blinding white light did wake her up slightly, well, just enough to get her home. As soon as she arrived home, she collapsed into a ball of sleepiness. Her husband carried her up to her bed while being careful not to wake her up.
That night Claire slept so peacefully oblivious of that fact that something terrible could happen to her at any moment. Her sleep, although interrupted, by her short start of day may be lengthened indefinitely.
Claire loved to ride boats it was one of her hobbies she could never let go of. So that morning she woke up ready to go to the boat house and lake where she enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and gentle waters. For breakfast she had nothing but a slice of toast with strawberry jam and piping hot coffee in a flask. Coffee was one of the other things that gave her delight along with chocolate and money.
Once again she drove but this time she drove with diligence and sensibility. Somehow her clumsiness was being suppressed. The boat house was unreasonably far but she insisted that this boat house was best she’s had ever gone to. After driving for a unreasonable amount of time she finally reaches close to ten lake. While making sure not to commit murder on accident she spotted that the lake was slightly lower than usual. Odd as it may have been she assumed it flooded and some water just overflowed. She parked her car in a car less car park. Strange there were always at-least one or two people but not today. She shrugged it off and carried on to the boat house. She found a boat and took it to the dock.
Claire took her shoes off and changed into her swimwear. Trying to get into the boat she slipped and her life flashed before her eyes but a bit of water isn’t enough to take Clair. Unfortunately, She knocked one of her shoes into the water and now before it aimlessly floated away she knelt down and grabbed for it. Suddenly, she felt a cold had on her back thirst forward. The shoe was the least of her worries for she had been pushed into the lake and banged her head against the dock knocking her out. She fell into the water sinking momentarily then coming back up. Clair the perfectly ordinary teacher had died. Her cold lifeless body floated along with her shoe. Drifting further and further into the distance. Such an unordinary death of such an ordinary person…
