In the year 2014 it was predicted that there would be overpopulation in 15- 20 years. It's the year 2030. Presently, the population in every nook and cranny of the earth has increased drastically, especially in the continent Africa. Poverty has also increased around the world. Humans are more than resources available, no jobs as robots have taken up jobs meant for humans to earn a living. Then, Universe Technological Research Labs (UTRL) announces that all universities worldwide in all the continents of the world, that any science student who can invent a machine to save humanity will be a staff of their company. I and my bosom Friend going home from school. We were having a conversation about the news
"James, what machine do you think a person can invent to get selected," Ruben asked.
"I can't say I haven't thought of anything yet, we have a year to try to impress them" I replied with a shrug.
"This is an opportunity of a lifetime. The best Technological company in the world giving this sort of privilege I am fantasizing already James can't lie to you, bro" Ruben said talking with confidence as if he was certain he was going to be picked.
"You don't have an idea on what to invent yet and you are dreaming of working with them. Moreover, this same opportunity has been given to other countries, billions of people am sorry our chances are very minimal" I said annoyingly.
"Why are you being so pessimistic? Why are our chances low? Are we not brilliant, intelligent and smart enough to invent a machine that is worthy? That's what I hate about you, you never believe in yourself talk more of others" Ruben said in anger walking away from me.
"I just love saying the truth. That's how I see it, don't be annoyed, "I shouted apologizing for what I said earlier.
I got home later and gave it a thought. "What machine can I invent that will assist with the increasing population of the world. I was going to have sleepless nights because when am done with my university there are no jobs. "This is an opportunity I can't see it slip away. I come from a poor home. I am going to a university because of the scholarship I was given. I have to take this opportunity, but for me to be selected, I have to think of something, something really big and it must be something out of this world, " I muttered to myself before I fell into a deep sleep.
