Prologue

Her sharp breaths got louder and louder as she was only a few unbearable steps away from escaping this grisly asylum. The exit was only a few steps away, but in her reality, it seemed like millions of aching miles away. The sound of the shivering winds kept her from giving up so easily. She was so close. So close.

“I know you can hear me,” Said a luring, angry voice getting closer to her with its soft tapping shoes, the only noise anyone dared to make. The wind whistled by, but in doing so only gave her flashbacks of the terrible, horrific, skin-peeling events that have happened here. The wound on her leg pulsed as she limped forward. “You can’t hide from me, even if you try,” the voice echoed through the hallway as the wind carried it to her ears.
