Summary

I ran. I’m not ready for what awaits in my near future. I’m only fifteen; not old enough to get married. But that's exactly what mom wants. (Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault, Rape, Domestic Violence, and Abuse)

Chapter 1 ~ Three Weeks Earlier

Anilyee

“Anilyee!” Mother shouted from the foyer.

I walk to the foyer slowly. Like I have all the time in the world. I do. I’m a princess. I can do as I please; when I please. It’s nice. As I enter the large room, I notice that my mother is not alone, and I immediately straighten up my posture.

“Anilyee. This is Sir Thomas Veneslia. He will be staying with us for a while. Please show him to the guest quarters and treat him as if he is part of the family.” Mother told me.

“Yes ma’am. Please follow me to your room, Sir Thomas Veneslia.” I say as I start walking to the parlor.

He followed quietly.

“You do realize that you don’t have to call me Sir Thomas Veneslia. It’s a mouthful. You can just call me Thomas, considering the fact that I’m only seventeen.” Thomas stated.

“Okay. I will keep that in mind. What brings you to come to stay with us?” I ask.

“My father and mother sent me. I don’t know why.” He responded.

“Okie Dokie. Here is your room. I will send a maid to come to escort you to supper in about an hour. My room is the one to the right. It’s the only matte black door. And my name is written across it in white chalk.” I told him.

“Okay, thank you Princess Anilyee.” Thomas thanks.

“Just call me Anilyee. Please.” I told him.

“Okay.” He said.

As promised, I sent a maid to escort Thomas to supper.

“What’s for supper tonight?” Thomas asks, curious.

“I think roasted duck, with a green olive, tomato salad, and fried, stuffed squash blossoms.” I tell him.

“That sounds amazing!” He exclaimed.

After supper, I always go out to the garden. I always go there when I need to be alone for a moment. Only today someone else is here. I’m not alone in the small greenhouse.
