"This story exposes some of the raw emotions involved with depression. If you wanted to add anything, you might discuss the physical pain that goes with depression. Emily is a strong young woman because inspite of experiencing a crisis herself she still manages to help Lily and put her needs first. She must have the capacity to be a warm loving person. The ending is uncertain yet offers hope as Emily finally realizes she can regain control of her own life. She realizes she doesn't want to die, she just needs to feel like she has control over what happens, and can add meaning to whatever she does.
