Meeting The Neighbors

“Mom, I can’t find the crate with my shoes!”

"Did you check to see if it’s in the truck still?”

“No.”

A long pause forms between the current shout-out my mom and I are having. This is nothing new for us. We have a tendency to scream out whenever we want to communicate.

Guess we are too lazy to go find the other person. Besides, where’s the fun in wanting to speak in a lower inside voice?

“Sounds like a personal problem, Lo. You think you should go take a look yourself, then?”

Nope. Then Id have to go all the way down the hall, down the stairs, then walk down another hall, past the living room, down one more hall, and then out front. As if. This is a mommy problem. A mommy who's going to have a grumpy daughter if she makes her search for her shoes.

“So, ya, I did, and I’m thinking you may be better to do it. You know, being closer and everything.”

Her silence is bringing doubt that my attempt to stay put is not going to work. But she is our mom, so of course, she grants the wishes of her beloved offspring whenever possible.

"Okay, I’ll go check. But please help your brother. He seems confused about which room he should be in. He has most of his stuff in the dining room.”

Idiot. My brother, the athlete, is also the poster boy for a brainless football player. No. He is actually pretty smart. It’s his actions that are somewhat questionable, though. My mom says it’s the age he’s at and all boys do stupid shit.

“On it mother.”

I yell back. I make my way to the dining room and see, in fact, Blake has claimed it as his own. He stands in the middle, with his hands on his hips and a proud, smug look on his face. He wags his eyebrows at me.

"Bet you're sorry you didn’t ride in my car now, aren’t you, Lo?”

Oh no. This is too easy. See, I am younger than Blake by two minutes. Yes, we are twins. I insist he was born first on the grounds that I kicked him out to see the dangers ahead. He swears he is the more responsible, privileged child, though. We are total opposites. He is popular. Plays football, and he has friends, lots of them, go to parties. Everyone wants to be with him, or be him. It's sickening. Me, I’m a loner. I study, stay home, read, and don’t have many friends. I don’t go to parties and the only time anyone wants to be with me is to help them do their homework. Or pretty much do it for them. Awesome. I guess neither of us has friends since moving to Twain Harte, California, though. My mom's client sold her on the idea of a move to California backed by her business in accounting. She was given the promise that would be enough to stabilize our family in a cozy forever home. Providing us with new scenery and interactions. Only not the coastal shirtless hunk's kind. There is a high demand for number crunchers in a community hidden in the middle of the forest and mountains. I guess. Blake and I will start a new life here in the middle of nowhere.

Slowly, if at all, I am adjusting to the idea more and more. The house alone kind of had me saying yes, please, we are home. But at least there’s a lake. Did I mention this house? How we can afford this place is a mystery. It’s like a rock star’s mansion. Much bigger than our last home in Philly. Staring at my brother, I decide how to strike. Always enjoying when I can call him out on his idiocy, I prep myself for the feel-good moment. Sometimes it dawns on me that we are twins. Then I think, am I like him? So this is where I strive for greater achievements.

“One Bo, I wouldn’t get in your stinky jockstrap-smelling car to drive that ridiculous amount of miles ever in life.”

I’m now ticking off points using my fingers.

"Two, you're mistaken on what a bedroom should be. This, dear brother, is clearly not that. Finally, three. Due to your lack of comprehension to see that this is not a bedroom.”

Pause for dramatics. Go!”

I now have the bigger, better room and you can take the one down the hall from it.

"I say in a speed meant for Latin tongues.I smile in victory. I’m usually the winner of our fights. I have more common sense.

"No Lo.” He argues, crossing his arms.

"This is the bigger better-”

“Dining room. “I say flatly.

I did interrupt his fantasy. Awe. I really don’t feel bad about it.

"What! Awe no way come on!“He whines before looking all around.”

You didn’t wonder why there was no door, no windows?”

He looks at me, confused

“No, I figured we would install some.”

"Oh god, you're hopeless.”

You’ve noticed I call Blake Bo, and he calls me Lo. Its stupid really, Bo is short for a big one and Lo for a little one. Clever, right? My name is Lucy. Still, everyone calls me Lo. Even mom.

" Hey hun, I found your shoes. Have Blake come help, it’s heavier than I thought.”

Blake is already gone rushing to help mom. Suck up. So I decided to take a look around outside while they handled that heavy crate filled with my footwear. I take the back door out to the backyard. It's not fenced in its just a huge space with a concrete patio and a fire pit in the center. It's also got an outdoor bar set up made with what looks like fake hula skirt grass. There are outdoor heaters, with huge round globes, that are actually solar-powered lights in various areas. Beyond the yard, space is more wide open space filled with trees. l Lots of trees.

“Wow.”

I say completely in love with this house now. And even the neighbor's yards are nice. It's a little weird that there’s nothing separating the properties though. It’s all just open. After I admire the beauty a little longer I get a chill and decide to go back in and finish unpacking. As I start to walk back I hear the most hypnotizing sound. It sounds like a guitar and someone singing. It's coming from the yard a couple of houses down. Which is kind of far. These houses are all large cabin-style homes made for vacation rentals. So it’s rare that anyone actually places roots here in this area.

And being it's almost winter no one is vacationing. Against my better judgment, I cross the two yards stopping before reaching where the music is being played. That’s when I see him. The most beautiful boy I ever have laid eyes on. Only he isn’t playing the guitar a sound system is. He isn’t alone. He is currently in his hot tub, while a blonde girl, about my age, rides him like a bronco. Water is splashing all around making steam rise off the cold patio. I’m standing still, afraid if I move I’ll draw attention to myself. Then I realize it too late, when a pair of beautiful blue eyes lock on mine. His girlfriend I assume continues her bouncing. Never catching wind of my presence as he continues to stare at me with a strange look. Like he’s mad I am a witness to this outdoor PDAThen he grins and starts guiding the girl faster using her hips as his handle. The girl is moaning while he is saying filthy things while grinning as though there’s no one standing here.

"Yess, take it. You like how deep I fuck you.”

''God Alex yes faster. Fuck yes.”

Oh god, I am torn between being completely turned on and completely mortified. My eyes are glued to the Adonis in front of me who has yet to tear his gaze from mine. I lick my lips causing him to jerk against the girl. He bites his lip and picks up his speed.

''Fuck, I’m going to cum! So hard! Fuck!”

And he does this while never taking his sights from mine. He is sitting still but breathing so heavily. His face turns serious and he stares at me like he has an urgency to bring to the table. Almost like he is frustrated. He tilts his head sideways and the corner of his mouth tilts up and I melt where I stand. That isn’t even the worst of it. He winks at me while licking his lower lip then biting it slightly eyes roaming up and down my body. I have never felt like I do right now. One thing is for sure. I need a change of panties. Bo’s voice reaches my ears as he yells from our back yard jolting me out of my trance. I am put back into reality and turn to walk away from my first live porn show. Do I regret it? Not one bit. Hey, I may be a good innocent girl. But we good girls like bad things too.

''Holy shit! Lo, where are you? Have you seen this yard? Damn I can't wait to have parties out here!“That being my cue I take one last look at the boy with beautiful eyes and yup he’s still staring at me with a grin. Embarrassed I turn and sprint off back to our yard, totally flushed and my heart racing.

I’ll say it was because of the short run I’m out of breath. Who was that? And why do I care? He clearly has a girlfriend I mean they were screwing right there out in the open. And great what if they go to school with me? Ugh of course they do stupid there is only one school. Great.

"Lo Hunny where were you? I don’t like you wandering off when we are so unfamiliar with the area.“Here we go.

Moms standing on the back deck looking a little uneasy. Ever since dad passed she has been more on my case about safety. Never mind Bo and his reckless behavior.

"I was just checking out the backyard some. I was careful don’t worry.”

Not careful enough to not be seen by the new neighbor having sex in his hot tub. Gosh, that image is forever imprinted in my head now.

"It’s alright.” She says spaced out.

''So what do you guys think so far? Do you think we made the right choice? Because I for one am in love with this house. It’s so big! I feel like this is a new beginning for us.”

Mom stands looking back at the large house that we now occupy. She isn’t wrong. The house is quite large. Almost scary large. I feel like I could get lost there.

"Ya, mom it’s great. ” Bo says.

I know he really has no problems when it comes to this move. Bo has always been flexible. He has it easier when it comes to making friends. So his surroundings don’t change in the terms of social standings. Then there’s me. I am not so keen on meeting new people. I prefer to stay hidden away with a book or in my room listening to music. I learned from early age groups of people cause drama. I hate drama.

" Alright let’s head inside and make sure all the boxes get unloaded from the trailer.”

"Okay.” Bo and I say.

As we head in I get a weird feeling. Like someone is watching me. When I turn around I swear I see something dart through the trees. It almost looked like... no, my eyes are tired from the drive here, a nap will do me some good. Maybe some food. Or maybe the hot neighbor- I mean just a nap and food.
