The party
It was just another boring Friday night, when all of a sudden my phone rings. “Hello?”
“Lisa, we’re inviting some friends over for drinks, you want to come?”
Sigh. It was one of my close friends Anna, she never takes no for an answer. She knows how much I hate to interact with people I don’t know. But I guess with Anna there isn’t much of a choice. “Sure, what time?” Let’s hope this doesn’t start to late so I can be in bed on time. “It starts at 10 pm, bring some wine if you like, see you then!” Phone call ended.
Ah shit, why did I agree, I’m really not in the mood. I open up my closet. Nothing to wear, what a surprise. Let’s just make the best out of it. I grab a cute top and some jeans. I throw on a leather jacket and some converse shoes and I’m ready to go. I take a quick look in the mirror to see if my hair is still as messy as it is, the answer is yes. I brush my hair and put on some mascara.
I sneak into the living room to steal some wine my mother has bought. She won’t notice anyway. “Bye mom, see you later, I’m going to Anna’s house.” I say loudly will standing in the door. “Bye honey, be safe.” She answers nicely. On my way to Anna’s house, I’m playing some loud music to boost my mood, because I surely was not in the mood for this.
I arrived at Anna’s place. “Okay Lisa, no biggie, it’s just Anna and a couple of strangers.” I quickly hop out of my car and ring the doorbell. “Lisa! You’re here, come in, come in!” Anna grabs me by my wrist and pulls me inside. There were some other people that I knew, but there was this one guy that I haven’t seen yet. He was handsome. He was tall, had brown eyes and gorgeous curly hair. He looked like the kind of guy to stay away from.
Anna introduced me to everyone, except the hot guy. Who was talking to other people anyway.
“Okay let’s have a drinking game” Anna suggests. Everybody agreed. Little did they know how little of alcohol I can handle. Little time goes by and everybody starts to get drunk, even I’m a little drunk. I decide to go into the kitchen to grab some water to sober up when I just ran into this tall person. “Ah shit I’m sorry.” I apologies “No worries darling, you can run into me anytime you want.” I look up and see, it’s the hot guy. I look into his deep brown eyes and I just stood there for a minute looking like a fool. “You okay darling?” he asks nicely. I nod. “I’m Leo, nice to meet you.” Come on Lisa, speak, what are you? 12? “I-.. I’m..” I studder. Leo smiles. “It’s okay, you’re Lisa right? Anna’s friend. Well it was nice meeting you” He gives me a quick kiss on the cheek and goes back to his friends.
What had just happened?? Let’s just forget about it, it’s not like I’m seeing him any time soon. I grab myself some water and head back to Anna and the others.
Anna grabs everyone in one circle and decides to play this stupid game truth or dare. How childish.
“Okay Lisa, truth or dare?” Anna asks. “Dare.” I say very confident. “Oooo, okay okay, Lisa, I dare you to kiss Leo.” “What? No? Even if you paid me I wouldn’t kiss him.” I say directly. “Oooooooo.” Everyone was laughing, but the one who wasn’t was Leo. I’m sad that I hurt his feelings, but I’m socially awkward so it has to do for now.
The party starts to come to an end. Everyone starts to leave and only a few people stick around. Anna grabs a bunch of blankets for everyone to sleep on. There were only a few lights on so it was pretty hard to see where I was going. I grab a matrass and a blanket and just decide to let it fall on a random place. I throw myself on the matrass when all of a sudden I feel this hand. “Oh shit, sorry, I thought you were a friend.” I turn my head and it’s Leo who is laying next to me. “No problem, things happen. No big deal.” I say very calmy.
I wrap myself into the blanket hoping to get some sleep when Leo decides to speak. Yay.
“So tell me Lisa, why on earth wouldn’t you want to kiss me?” He whispers. I look at him, for this one I actually have to think. Why didn’t I want to kiss him? I mean he was handsome, cute, tall, oh just look at him. “Hello? Did u loose your tongue again, or do you want me to come help you find it?” He winks.
“You got money on you?” I said very confident. It must be the alcohol, but I didn’t mind.
He laughs. “Afterwards I think you’ll be the one paying me.” Wink. I was surprised with his answer.
“Let’s just go to sleep now, I’m really tired.” I whisper. “Bet I can even make you more tired.”
“Leo knock it off, just go to sleep.” I say irritated. I think he got the hint, he turned around and went to sleep. I did the same, it didn’t matter who I was laying next to. I just wanted to sleep.
“Lisa? Lisa? Wake up! Lisa? Lisa!” someone grabs my wrist and just pulls me off the matrass. “Anna? What the hell are you doing?” I’m so irritated right now, how dare she wake me up. “I’m sorry Lisa, Jessie wants to lay down next to Leo and because you’re not interested it shouldn’t be a problem, right? Anna gives me a big smile. Was it a problem? I don’t know, I’ve known him for 5 hours so, I guess.. not? “Whatever, just take my matrass, I’m going to lay down somewhere else, just don’t bother me.” I grab my blanket and go search for another matrass. Unlucky the other matrass is really close to Leo’s. Great, now I have to hear everything they’re doing. Gross.
Jessie tries to wake up Leo for some action, but he’s a deep sleeper. Suddenly Leo turns around and lays his arm on Jessie “Come here Lisa, don’t push me away.” He whispered in his sleep. I’m shocked. I just pretend to sleep again so I don’t have to face Jessie.
