Chapter 1: The beginning
Deliah Rose Alarie was born on October 31st, 2028, in the household of the Laris’s. Delilah never called herself a Laris for the fact that she hated her parents . She had a very abusive childhood, the only reason she was ever kept around was to do chores and other miserable things her parents never wanted to do. Emily and George Laris would lock their child in a dark, dusty storage room for most of the day or whenever she wasn’t doing chores.
Her life was miserable enough, she never went to school, never had friends and never felt actual love before. Her clothes were tattered and dirty, she wore a blue and white T-shirt, torn-up faded jeans and ripped tennis shoes. She had light brown skin, hazel eyes, and black matted hair in a ponytail, she was 4” 5’ and weighed 39 lbs. Delilah was sitting in the storage room, in the dark and heard a knock on the front door above her.
“Leo!” She heard her father say, She heard Leo, her 8-year-old cousin’s high pitched laugh.
“Hi uncle!” Leo shouted cheerfully.
Leo was lanky and very skinny, much like Emily Laris. Leo wore a Minecraft shirt and green camo shorts with red and gold tennis shoes. He had light brown hair and emerald green eyes, he was very pale and had freckles across his nose.
Deliah heard other voices, most likely Leo’s parents, she assumed. She scurried over to a vent above the front door to hear who it was. She pressed her ear against the vent and listened intently.
“Hi, George!” George’s sister Layla said. Deliah couldn’t hear what she said next, she pressed her ear closer. “I brought some of Leo’s friends over to hang out, is that okay?.”
“Sure!” George exclaimed.
“Hey, where’s you know who?” Leo asked.
“Downstairs”
“Guys, c’mon.” Leo waved to his friends.
Oh shit. Deliah was sick of this, every time Leo came over he made her life a living hell. She heard footsteps coming from the staircase. “Not this time, this time it will be different.” Deliah let out a sigh, she could see her breath in the cold, it was freezing in there. They were right at the wall. Deliah scrambled to the far side of the room, her heart was racing, I can do this … I never needed anyone before and I don’t need anyone now. Deliah thought.
They were right at the door. It swung open and Leo and his friends appeared.
“Hello Deliah,” Leo said with a smug look on his face.
Deliah was silent. Something clicked behind her back. Leo tilted his head in curiosity.
“What ’cha got there Deliah?”
“Why don’t I show you?” Deliah hissed.
Leo and the other kids stared at her, a horrified expression on their faces. Boom! Leo fell to the ground and was gasping for air. He looked up at Deliah, tears pouring down his face, there was a hole in his neck, the size of a bullet. He coughed up more blood, the rest of his companions were frozen in shock.
The next thing Deliah knew, Leo’s mother Layla was sprinting at her.
“I’LL KILL YOU!!!” she screamed, holding back tears. Deliah dashed over to the boiler to avoid her, and out of the corner of her eye she saw a drill.
She leaped into the air and plunged the drill into Layla’s forehead, she screamed in pain and fell to the ground. Delilah turned around and her parents were right behind her.
