Chapter 1

Two months after Liam's birthday, his parents are not the same. They were fighting a lot, and then tonight Liam was involved in the fight.

"He is old enough to know about this now. How is he going to protect himself from that thing if he doesn't even know that thing exists..."

"No, not today. He is not ready and he just turned 15 last two months. I can't take his freedom and innocent away yet. "

"But darling we are not young anymore, and we are not strong enough to protect him. Even my brother is getting weaker. WE NEED TO TELL HIM!" Liam's dad comforting his wife.

"OKAY, stop fighting. I am right here and I am not gonna stay here to just hear you guys fight. You call me here to tell me something but you guys just fight. I am tired of hearing you guys yelling at each others throat. You guys have changed", Liam raising his voice to keep their eyes on him.

Both his mom and dad both shock and speechless. Watching him storming out of the kitchen, his mother grab the kitchen counter as a support.

He went up to his room, put on the earphone, and start to read Stephen King's Pet Sematary.

A few minutes into reading, he heard a loud sound. He ignores it thinking his parents still fighting. Then second later he heard it again. "ARGHHH"

Concern creeps into him and thus decided to look at what is happening downstairs.

Liam cautiously watched from the top of the staircase to see if it might be an intruder or not. From the top stairs, he saw a hand. He took courage and went down.

Slowly and steadily not making much noise, he reaches the bottom stairs, and the scene in front of him is the worst. His dad is laying in pools of blood. He looked around looking for his mom but to no avail, he did not found.

Hoping anyone who did this is out of the house by now, he heard the scream again 'ARGGHHH'. It's his mom's voice, he walks towards the voice.

After he took two steps, someone grab his ankle. 'Dad, he is still alive. I should call the ambulance.' He was reaching for his phone when his dad gestured to come closer to him.

"run Liam, run and don't ever look back. Leave this place. Don't let it catch you, and sorry we did not tell you about him after you....". And the hand fell letting Liam free to walk.

With panic creeping in on him, Liam ran back to his room, leaving his now-dead dad and mom. Holding in his sob, trying to make as little noise as possible before reaching his room.

The stairs made a creaking sound, informing Liam that someone is climbing up the stairs.
