Chapter 1 - I couldn't stay away - Sebastian
My heart ripped in two when the car drove away, I fell to my knees trying to cope with the pain. Tao took over my body and broke free, his strength took over my mind. Tao’s paws pounded the forest floor as we raced alongside the vehicle, he stayed out of sight, but not to Alice. The way her tear streaked face stared at me, begged me not to leave her; I was the one howling inside Tao’s mind. He waited as they stopped and dropped the keys off, Alice’s eyes pierced deep into my broken soul before they moved off again. Tao began to race through the woods again, but the coverage wasn’t enough where we were now, and he could be easily spotted.
He never picked up my clothes, so me walking back naked was out of the question. He managed to evade movement going on around the different cabins we passed by. My clothes were still in a shredded pile when we returned. I managed to find a pair of shorts hidden and gathered up what was left of my clothes. “Damn Tao, you could have let me change first.” “You would have wasted precious time, and I wouldn’t have been able to see her to say goodbye.” His disgruntled thoughts argued with mine.
The image of her invaded every second of my mind and I couldn’t think straight. It has been two days since she left to go home and Hawk had been away having a meeting with Black and Alpha Alex. “Sebastian!” Hawk bellowed out at me as I sat in his office.
“Hu?” I scratched my head trying to think what he had said.
“Alpha Kyle Black spotted Draven’s men near their territory last night after we returned. He is watching him closely.” His stare penetrated me, it wasn’t often Hawk made me feel uneasy, but this was serious business. “I’m going to send four of our men up, Alpha Alex is sending two of his best men. The council has called a meeting in three days, and your mind isn’t with us.”
“I’m sorry, I’m finding the separation from Alice harder than I thought I would.” It was always going to be hard, but the dull ache in my heart continues and only sadness fills the rest of me.
Hawk sighs heavily. “I need you by my side and focused at this council meeting, everyone else has a place to be and I’ve handed over things to Josh to run the cabins.” Hawk glared at me. I didn’t mean the snort which came out to be so loud. “You have been doing such a shitty job, he has been double checking your work.” The sharp raised eyebrow made me sink into the seat.
“I can’t explain what is going on in my head, I’m losing my mind. My whole head has been cloudy as my thoughts have been consumed by who her ancestors are. Has her parents been hiding things from her all this time?” I haven’t managed to tell Hawk my worries since the night at his.
He hums to himself and taps his fingers on his desk. “Pack a bag, go see Alice, then come back in two days so we can plan our moves on the council depending on what happens.” He links his fingers behind his head. “I need you by my side, maybe this will help you. You are going to have to get used to being without her for short periods of time; but I know there are some things you need to find out about her ancestors.” It was as if he was reading my mind.
“Two days.” My heart kicks back into life, Tao picks up his head from the change of my mood.
“Hopefully you will get the answers you seek. Come back clear headed.” He really is a great leader and Alpha. “Oh, and Sebastian… let me know.”
“I will Alpha, thank you.” I give him an appreciative nod. Could I get out of there fast enough, nope.
The hum of the engine purred as I put my foot down harder on the accelerator pedal. Alice said it took them just over four hours, with the way I was driving, I’ll make it in three. Tao sat with his tongue hanging out, he wanted to smother her with wet kisses, I on the other hand needed to. The scent of her still lingered in my bed sheets and was the only thing which kept me sane on a night as my dreams were filled with her.
My heart was pounding by the time I reached her town, Thornbrook. I didn’t have her address and I hadn’t told her I was coming, but I didn’t need to. A slight lingering of her sweetness filled the air, I couldn’t wait to see her face when I turned up. It got stronger the more I drove through her town, it was clean, not a sign of other werewolves which I thought strange. Most places had small communities who mingled with the humans, but here… not one werewolf. There was also the strange sensation as I entered her town, but my thoughts had been of Alice.
My focus was brought back with a full whack in the face and I slammed on the breaks, stopping outside a house. “Alice.” I gripped the steering wheel and calmed my breathing. With Tao close to tearing out of my body, I had to reprimand him to calm the fuck down.
My internal body temperature shot up and the tingling in my fingers grew stronger. To have her in my arms again would be heavenly bliss. I swallowed the lump in my throat, why was I suddenly nervous? The bond which I had with Alice escalated in seconds and I wondered if she was experiencing the same emotions. I stepped out, my legs shaky and my breathing ragged. The possibility of meeting her parents now had me in a mess. “She is our mate, pull yourself together, or I will come out and do it for you!” Tao’s mind screamed out at me and made me laugh. “Okay, I’m going.” I muttered to him under my breath.
A breeze of air circled around me, bringing a refreshing coolness to my body. Alice was inside this house and I hoped she was ready for me. I couldn’t stay away, the need for some clarity of who she was was eating away at me, and I’m sure that was the reason why I couldn’t focus. Hawk needs me back to my full self, so now it was time to face a fear I had lingering in the back of my mind.
The door opened before I had a chance to knock and Alice stood before me. “Sebastian?” Her breathy whisper was of disbelief. She stood staring at me for a second longer before she leaped into my arms. “You’re really here.”
I held my arms under her ass and around her back as her legs wrapped around my waist. “I missed you.” My heart rate slowed and I found my peace again as I nuzzled the side of her neck. “I have been a mess since you left.” Her arms tightened around my neck and her face buried into my neck as I admitted my troubles. “We need to find out who your ancestors are, I have two days before I must be back.”
“Two days.” She repeated, before a smile grew across her lips and her fingers played with my hair. Tears welled up in her eyes and she tried to blink them away. “I missed you so much, I’ve been miserable since I returned.” Her lips found mine in seconds and our kiss became explosive. “Do you want to come inside? Everyone is out at the moment. Plus I think my neighbors are staring at us.” She bit her bottom lip as her focus moved, and gazed over my shoulder.
I slid her down and she laced her fingers with mine, leading me inside her house. “How did you know where I lived?” Her brow knitted together.
We were alone and together, a smirk formed on my face. I reach out and glide my hand over her cheek and into her hair, pulling her closer to me. Her scent was intoxicating to me, something had changed or was about to. I inhaled her deeply, she was my drug, my sanity. “I need you.” I whispered into her ear.
The rise in her breathing matched mine and her pupils exploded, filling every part of her blue irises. “Sebastian.” She clings onto my top and begs me with the way she said my name.
“Where is your room, and how long have we got?” I was already undoing my jeans so I could release my dick, which was pounding the confinements it was restricted in. Her arms wrapped around my neck and pulled me down on top of her. “Can you stay longer than two days?” She murmured into my ear, her heart racing away still.
“The council has called a meeting, I need to be on Hawk’s side. My mind hasn’t been clear since you left, so Hawk sent me to get some clarity.” I kissed along her cheek till I met her lips.
“Is it serious?” Her fingers play with the back of my hair.
“It is the first meeting since Councillor Ozworld took over, Hawk thinks this will be the division between packs, there is something much bigger going on.” My heart calms down, back to normal. I then noticed pictures she had, they were amazing.
“Did you do these?” I swung my legs off the bed to go browse through them. “Tao.” She had drawn him in intricate detail. He let out a whimper inside my head, he was dying to come out.
“Yes, a couple I did whilst at the cabin, but these are the ones I drew here.” Alice slides her arm around my waist.
“Alice.” A voice calls out as a door shuts. “Whose truck is parked out the front?” The man was not happy, and from the look on Alice's face it was her father, and she was worried.
This is going to be a rollercoaster of a ride. New friends will be made, and secrets will be unraveled. I hope you enjoy this story as much as the first. The next chapter will be out on Friday.
