Chapter 1

Alicia POV

Trey and I have been married for two years and it’s been good. I have settled into this life as a mom, wife, occasionally therapist, and business owner. But doing all of that and I’m still bored. Trey gets to do exciting things and travel the world while I’m stuck in V.A, wrangling my kids and immature co-workers. I always take care of everybody and I’m so sick of it. Trey isn’t even here long enough to notice that I’m drowning in despair. Sometimes I wish I could go back to being the Nerdy assistant, not the nerdy hot wife. I need a break and a drink. Your girl is tired and needs a vacation that includes a massage.

Trey is somewhere in America and I’m sitting in the park watching my little boy play. I’m also about to meet with my graphic novel writers, Sasha and Amir. Sasha and Amir are talented people that totally understand my vision for my graphic novel and company. Female empowerment. In the comic book world as a whole, it’s only a handful of women that write comics. Zero women artists, therefore the women in the comics are big boobs and half naked. It’s really sexist and I want to change that. And my team totally understands that.

Sasha is a punk chick that looks like Katy Perry. (boobs and everything) Amir is a very handsome guy that could be a model.6"0 light with green eyes. Sasha always jokes that we should include him in our graphic novel as somebody’s love interest. Amir isn’t a fan of Trey. He doesn’t get our relationship. He also has a crush on me.

Sasha and I are having a deep convo about who would win a fight: Wonderwoman vs Supergirl. All the while Amir is staring at me.

“You look a mess. *Amir

“Thanks for pointing that out and interrupting our convo.

“You welcome.

*Later

I’m at home making dinner for the kids and me. They are parked in front of the Tv, watching Little Einsteins. The doorbells ring which is weird. Family and friends just walk right in.

I answer the door and it's Amir with an envelope. He doesn’t say anything but just hands it to me and then walks away. I close the door and go check on the food. After feeding and putting the kids to bed, I sit in my favorite chair in the living room. It’s time to open this envelope and hopefully, it’s not resignation papers. It’s hard to find a graphic writer that’s not sexiest. Anyway, I open it and it was a $500 gift certificate to a spa. I smiled and instantly text Amir a thank you. He is very observant, unlike my husband. Beep goes my phone and it’s a text from Trey(sigh)

Hubby ❤️❤️: Sorry I couldn’t say goodnight to the kids. I will call you tomorrow. xoxo Trey

Trey doesn’t even know that I haven’t smiled genuinely since our son was born. Now a simple gift certificate brings out a smile in me.

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
