| Friends | Chapter One
I quickly sat up, face branded in drool and a mark from my shirt.
“That was the most vivid dream I have ever experienced.” I almost haphazardly trip off my bed, slipping when my foot stepped on the edge of my trudging pajama pants.
Sometimes my dreams make me question my sanity. Just as this one did.
I was a fat clown jumping on top of the McDonalds sign on a highway in the middle of the ocean somehow. Great huh?
I thought about it over and over as I brushed my teeth and did my daily morning duties. Then my phone rang with the caller ID as ‘Cheshire Playboy’. I quickly scoffed and spit into the sink, washing the toothpaste out, then sitting on my bed to comb through the birds nest on my head.
“What? I’m busy.” As soon as I answered I heard a bunch of commotion from the line. Screaming and laughing, all around chatter. “Bokuto stop running you’ll hit-” Akaashi was yelling at Bokuto, just as he ran into the head of the gym door. Kuroo greets me with a loud cackle.
“Y/N! You should come over to the gym! We’re having a party!”
“Nope I’m busy.”
A crash, and a drop of the phone later, Kuroo answered. “Busy doing what?”
“Your mum duhh. She kinna fine not gonna lie~” Hinata seemed to overhear, and laughed. “Y/N!!! Come party with us!” He called out, shoving Kuroo accidentally and taking over on the line.
“WHAT HINATA I CAN’T HEAR YOU?” Hinata goes to snap at Kageyama for interrupting our conversation. “Anyways, beautiful~” Kuroo starts to cackle and the noise goes down for a bit, then riles back up again.
“Shut it you know that’s not true~ I’m friggin perfect you cow face!” I cackle along with him and end up almost yanking my scalp free from hair with my brush.
“Y/N? THAT YOU? CAN YOU COME PL-” Bokuto was yelling this time, but then gets hit with something, causing him to be unable to continue.
“HEY HEY HEY!” I hoot and turn on facetime after brushing my hair down.
“Y/N!” Everyone cheers, some grumble in the corner, seeking attention they didn’t get. A.K.A BokuBabes.
Of course I was used to it, because I’m amazing of course.
“Anyways. I godda go to work because I’m studious as fawk you Volleyball freaks.”
I slip on my shoes and make it to the door before a series of jumbled complaints bursts out at me for leaving them all alone.
“Don’t be such babieses. Or what is the Japanese word? Doll? A tiny pooper?”
The entire crowd of boys surrounding the phone burst out laughing. “POOPER? I SWEAR YOU COME UP WITH THE WEIRDEST WORDS!” Cackles erupt and clatter around, bouncing off of the walls.
“Yea, yea, Pooper scmooper whatever I’m going.” A few whines shush the laughs but I eventually hang up.
I need to work on my Japanese. My older brother Lev was working on it too, just better at it than I am. Speaking of, Lev quickly peaked his giraffe head out from behind the corner as I was leaving.
“Ah, my lyovochka! Aww how have you been?” I gush at my brother, hooking him around his neck just as I smelt chocolate.
“Dava, mine.”
Translation: Give, cause I was not about to leave knowing he had chocolate to share.
“Y/n.” He musters up a serious face, waving the gooey candy in front of me.
“Can you pleeeeeease watch our game on Friday? Please?”
“Nah. Fridays are MY days.” I quickly dismiss his bribe and shut the door in his face. Unknowingly, I swiped it from his beanstalk hands.
Lev lets out a shriek from inside the house just as he realizes. ”Segodnya tvoy denʹ Lev!”
“Ehh? It’s not my birthday- OH MY GOSH- Stop it you stada baba!”
Me and Lev tend to reach back into our first language when we bicker. If you haven’t already noticed.
“I AM NOT AN OLD LADY! If anything, YOU are. Grey headed baba!” I did indeed call him a foolish old woman. No need to specify my amazingness.
“Nya nya nya na na na!” I stick my tongue out after shoving the chocolate bar down my throat.
“Omg Lev- Was that dark chocolate- Eww, why would you let me consume such vile thing of chocolate bar?”
“Pajalusta.” {Your Welcome}
“You heathen.” I scoff and spit at his feet as he walks outside bare foot. To my luck, he jumps to avoid it and slips on a little puddle, falling into the grass.
“You deserve it.”
“Why so mean this morning?” Lev whines and rises up from the floor that rats have most likely crossed.
“’Cause I can be?”
“Plausible. Can I come with?”
“No.”
“Whyyyy?”
“Because I’m going to see mah husband. Now go.”
Lev mopes and walks back into the house, but stopped and whipped his head back towards me.
“Wait who?”
“Bokuto, duhh.”
Me and Bokuto Kotaro weren’t dating. But I still liked him, as a friend.
Today I may realize it, or not.
It could be interesting. It could be life changing.
Or not.
Who the heck can know the future am I right?
