Summary

This book is a collection of selected poetry that I've written over the years, and continue to write. I don't follow any particular format, but I tend to write about venting, depression, trauma, past experiences, current and past events, my opinions opinions, anxiety, morals, abuse (as a victim and later as a survivor), healing, overcoming struggles and obstacles, etc. Some poems may also tell a story, and some are playful and/or lighthearted. The sky is the limit as to what I write about!

Little Girl, Dance

Little girl,

Sing your song

So preciously

With your curls and twirls,

Dancing in the garden

To your heart’s perfection.

Dance to the rhythm

Felt inside of thee,

And let no other

Take away your glee!

Be free as can be;

Be free from all others,

And let your heart soar

As you dance to your melody.

Little girl,

No worries upon you,

May the kiss of life

Protect you ever so carefully;

Continue to dance

Ever so innocently,

May no danger ever come to be.

Dance in the sun,

Curls and twirls,

Leaps and beats,

Laughter and glee—

May a carpet of autumn

May warmth beneath your feet,

To forever be your destiny.

Little girl,

So precious to me,

You dance so graciously...

May it be yours

And yours, only to be!

Fragile innocence

A dance, a twirl,

Look back, and it’s gone!

Hold on, never let go

And protect it, for it is yours

Let it be, let it live so beautifully.

mariedavismd312: This was Avery spiritual read. The last 2 chapters where very disappointing. That was such a let down unless there is a sequel. Burgess should have been punished for what he did. There was no explanation for his hatred for Jeremiah. I figured he was being set but just had the wrong person. I loved ...
