Chapter 1
It was 6:45 pm on a squally Friday evening. The whistle of wind echoed simultaneously with heavy thunderclaps. Even the blind knew it was going to be a serious downpour as it seemed like Zeus was exasperated with us. We were supposed to be getting ready for Tito’s beach party, which was scheduled for tomorrow on a luxurious island in Lagos. The three cabin cruisers that was transporting us to the island were docked. We were ready to raise the anchor and set sail. "Let the voyage begin". I bellowed at the top of my voice, as I would be the captain, steering one of the boats. I sailed through the stormy weather as it takes a skillful sailor to navigate through the rugged sea. The turbulence couldn’t hinder our jollification as the mates and maidens merried while the sea shanties were on replay. The clouds were shades of different colors, as exhales of tobacco and marijuana mixed with nature’s gloomy fumes. The wines and liquors diminished as the gleeful adventure continues. Every atom of etiquette was thrown overboard as we ventured on our exhilarating voyage.
As I navigate through the dark waters with my bottle of seaman, I heard Tito screaming my name as he was about to roll me a blunt. Tito and I have been friends since our first year, he was tall, handsome, and dark in complexion with a broad chest, his white teeth and lucid mind were his charms. Tito was the reincarnation of Adonis for his desirabilities and seductiveness got all the ladies flocking around him. He was the most influential person with a unique sense of fashion. We belong to the AlphaPack sect on campus. We were the most distinguished gentlemen in college as everyone is either smart or from a noble home. We were the dream men of every maiden and the goal of every lad.
It was 8:00 pm, and the turbulence was over as we had a smooth sail. Tito approached me with a bottle of vodka and four sticks of backwood laced with cannabis and ecstasies. While we were enjoying the cruise, we were on a personal short trip into oblivion as we were on psychedelics swimming in our hallucinations, yet I tried as much to be in control of my consciousness, for I wouldn’t want to create a Lagos Titanic story, which would be a colossal foolhardy situation. “I wouldn’t have made it this far without you, Tito Daniels. You gave me life, a trailblazing career that suits my sophisticated lifestyle with seven figures on my paycheck despite being in my senior years.” I uttered from the deepest part of my heart, knowing I would forever be indebted to him, even if he thought it wasn't necessary, for I wasn't the only one benefiting from Tito’s selflessness. "You got to turn off those emotions Kachi, remember those chicks won't screw themselves, let's get wild brother, for we only live once," Tito responded while staring at the mega fly girl in a red skimpy gown. Her cobalt blue eyes were as unique as her glossy silky natural hair with luminous skin like the reflections of a diamond. Those dimples of hers were enough to make any man bend his knee and become her loyal subject until the end of time, It was as if Poseidon had blessed Tito with his queen for Aphrodite couldn't match her beauty, her smiles were captivating with the glamour of a goddess, Tito has been jinxed by the mermaid on deck. I could tell Tito’s mind was somewhere else and since we were almost on the island, I had to let Tito do his thing.
