Chapter 1.feeling pain
Elsie was living with her aunt and uncle. They didn't have children. Her parents have allowed her to live with them since she was 6 years old and they raised her as their daughter. She used to visit her parents during the schools holidays
Elsie was sitting on the couch, she was busy with her phone and worried about her boyfriend who she hadn't spoken to for three days. She called him every day. but he didn't answer her calls
"I don't understand why he doesn't answer my calls. Maybe something happened to his phone," said Elsie speaking alone. She loves him with all her heart. He was her first love
Meanwhile at the University of Johannesburg residence. A young handsome man was lying in bed ignoring his phone which keep on ringing
Alex was a handsome and charming young man. He was in his first year at the University of Johannesburg. He is from Malamulele town. He went to Joburg to complete his studies
Annie glared at him, "Why are you ignoring your phone. Why don't you pick it up?" she was angry and jealous, thinking it might be a woman calling him
He stared at her, "I won't take it. Is my grandmother who is calling. She is sometimes annoying. She wants to ask me when I'm going to visit her. Nothing serious. " Alex was good at lying
"Okay." Annie trusts Alax, so she has no choice but to believe his words. Alex saved Elsie's number as grandma. So that makes Annie believe it was his grandmother
Alex kissed her passionately, "I love you and I don't think I will love another woman the way I love you," said Alex
Hearing his words, she was burning in her cheeks and she blushed
Elsie grabbed her phone and went to the bedroom stressing ."Is he ignoring me or has something happened?" she was thinking a lot about it
Early in the morning. Elsie prepared herself for school, She was in grade 12 at Malamulele high school. Elsie was 19 years old
When she arrived at school, she saw a group of women students gossiping. She didn't hear their conversations but they seemed to be talking about her when she came to meet them. They kept quiet, then she passed them without saying a word after she passed, they stared at her and laughed
When she was going to class she met Pretty, her best friend, Pretty, and Elsie. They were like sisters
"I am sorry for what happened between you and Alex. He is just a jerk. You aren't worth him," she said. Pretty comforted Elsie with her words
Elsie seemed to be surprised and her face changed, "What are you talking about?" she was still worried about Alex. She felt that since he moved to Joburg something was off about him but she ignored it
"Haven't you seen it?"
"See what?"
Pretty didn't know how to say it. She thought Elsie had seen it. but it turned out that Elsie saw nothing. She knows Elsie loves Alex more than herself and it was 2 years of dating. Pretty remained silent
"Tell me Pretty, What's going on?" she was worried
Pretty sigh, "Alex posted a picture of him hugging a girl on Instagram. They seem to be in love. I also go through the comments to guarantee it"
Alex never post a woman on social media, even Elsie it was 2 years of dating but he never post her, so how could he post another woman
When She heard this, she didn't believe it at all," tell me you are joking pretty"
"I'm not joking Elsie"
She then switched her phone on and logged in to Instagram. The post immediately appeared on the screen of her phone. When she sees it, her body immediately turned weak and she accidentally drops her phone off. She wanted to cry but she told herself not to, there were a lot of students around them so she didn't want to embarrass herself
pretty picked up Elsie's phone and said, "I'm sorry Elsie." She comforted her
It was cold but her body was hot. She was hurt inside her heart but she was acting strong. She didn't want to expose her feelings, "It's okay pretty, don't be sorry, you didn't do anything wrong I'm glad that I'm no longer in the dark. Now I know why he has been ignoring my calls"
After the school bell rang, then they took separate ways. Pretty was going to science class and Elsie to business classes
In the business classroom, Elsie sat next to Romeo, Elsie's male best friend, also her neighbour, and Romeo had a crush on Elsie but he was afraid to tell her. He thought he might ruin their friendship
"Elsie, are you okay? You seem worried" Said Romeo noticing Elsie's mood
"I'm fine, I just have a headache that is all" she was lying
While Mr magamule was teaching, he noticed that Elsie's mind was outside the class, he then ask her the question, "Elsie give me one advantage of intensive strategies"
She didn't hear him. 'How Could he do that to me, what have I done to him,' she was asking herself many questions and thinking a lot about it
Magamule called her name three times. "Elsie!, Elsie!, Elsie!!!" He yelled
Elsie finally came back to her senses "Sir" she replied
Your mind is not here. Come back to class Elsie. You were not listening, said Mr Magamule
"Sorry sir, it won't happen again I promise." she did not concentrate on Magamule's teaching. She came up with the mind of asking permission to go home
"Sir I'm not feeling well. I have headaches," said Elsie
"Go to the principal, he will sign a permission for you," said Magamule
Elsie then parked her stuff and left the classroom
