Chapter 1 The Meet
Ellen Foster, a freshman at high school, she's 16 years old, and this is how she met the doll maker. So, it started like a day usually starts, with eating breakfast. Ellen was having fun eating her favorite cereal, Honey Nut Cheerios. They were her favorite, so she was having a great day so far. Then she heard a knock on her front door, she thought “maybe dad is back, no dad can’t be back he’s on a business trip, he won’t be back for a while”.
Ellen was getting scared, but she cooled down and answered the door. When she answered the door there was a huge package on the porch, she looked at the package to see if it was at the right house and it was. Ellen took it inside, when the package was inside, she went to go get the box cutter, she grabbed the box cutter and opened the box. When she opened the box there was a big puppet and Ellen hated dolls, so she was a little frightened.
Ellen picked up the puppet and it had a paper attached to it, she took the paper and started to read it. The paper said “hello, I’m Charlie the puppet, take care of me please”. After Ellen read the paper, she put the paper down and held up the puppet and said, “You’re a creepy little fella, aren’t ya?” Then she put him down and went to talk to her mom about the puppet. When she got to her mom’s office she wasn’t there, she thought “maybe she is at work, probably working late nights again”, Ellen was always sad that her mom was always at work and her dad was always on a business trip, but she got used to it. When she got back to the puppet the puppet was missing. Ellen was super scared, but she went looking for the puppet. Ellen checked every room but the kitchen, so she went to check the kitchen.
When Ellen got to the kitchen the puppet was sitting on the counter, next the knife block and with a paper on its lap, she picked up the paper and read it, the paper said “okay Ellen, the paper that came with me said my name was Charlie, call me Charlie not puppet, p.s. be careful. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!”. She was getting really, really scared, Ellen said “I feel like someone was watching me, like the pup— I mean Charlie is watching me”. So, she took Charlie and put him in the closet on the top shelf, when she put him on the top shelf, she closed the door, then walked away.
