Water Works

“Did you finish your reaserch?” Sammy asked. She had dyed blond hair, but it was origionally brown. And, since it had been such a long time since she had last gotten it dyed, the dark brown was already showing itself. Sammy also had gray eyes that looked a bit like minature storms.

Bob nodded, he had that look of an average guy with his short black hair and brown eyes. Sammy (his wife) and he had been looking for a place to move in California. And, after trying to see what water system worked best, along with uselessly looking thru countless websites about nothing noteable at all, he had finally found something interesting. Tap water had the average cleanest water in the U.S., and possesed a nice taste as well.

“If you found a house with no reported trouble with it’s tap water, you’d have a pretty good water system.” He said.

“Really?” Sammy questioned, raising her eyebrow like a cat arching it’s back. Bob frowned, ‘Why does it feel as if she’s testing me?’, He thought.

“Yes, it’s the cleanest in the U.S.“, Bob responded, already preparing something to say to any of Sammy’s needling remarks about his choice.

“But, tap water can be easily contaminated with lead while it’s being transported to your house tho.” Bob hadn’t known this, but was not about to give up with his pick.

“That’s why I said that you should pick one with no reported trouble.”

“Just because it hasn’t had any trouble yet doesn’t mean that the house won’t have any trouble in the future.” Sammy easily answered. Perhaps tap water wasn’t the best choice, Bob thought, fine, then I’ll switch over to houses that have access to water that was desalinated.

“Then how about Desalinated water?” Bob asks.

“While such a kind of water is clear for drinking and will potentially be very important to humans in the future, it costs way too much, and we have a low income. The process of rainwater harvesting is way less pricey and good for drinking as well. So, I say we buy a house with a rainwater system already installed.” Sammy replies, shutting down his argument as if it were nothing, and finally, clicking over to a different tab that shows a house already on it.

Bob blinked in surprise when he realized that his wife had planned to get that house since the very beginning. And, as she puts her arm over his shoulder, the man decides that, next time, he would win the debate, even if Sammy has something already prepared. He would try hard.
