Tell me when you realize
You became too bored with your life
So you created a new one
One you never thought you’d have
Now it’s three years down the line
And you look in every mirror
Trying to find who you were
Once before
And you realize you’re too far gone
The old you
Doesn’t exist anymore
Instead a shadow
It follows your body around
And sometimes replaces it
Because you decided
Your dreams weren’t lucrative enough
How dare you imagine
Wish for something more
That isn’t sensible
It isn’t something you can live off of
You abandoned yourself
With a promise of free tuition
And a chance to prove others wrong
When will you learn
Learn that others are not who matter
That you should not care
You should love yourself
But even now
You can’t.
So what was the purpose of this?
To prove her wrong?
To prove them wrong?
Was it worth it?
