First Meeting

'The queen slowly gave in to the waves, allowing it to swallow her, where she would finally be laid to rest with her lover..' Y/N had read the story many times, but she never understood why a queen; wealthy, beautiful and inspiring, would rather lose her entire kingdom and her life, for a peasant. Although, she will admit, she'd never been in love before. Y/N sighed to herself, turning on her side to place the book on her drawer. As she closed the draw for the night, a cool breeze entered the room. Confused, she walked over to the window. Reaching out to close it, something glimmered in the corner of her eye. A small gift box; black with green ribbon, tied neatly into a bow. She picked it up, turning it over and over. Looking out, she was a bit shocked at the way it got there. She lived on the 5th floor of an apartment building. The only way to get to her window was to climb up some of the loose bricks, but the bricks were so loose they'd probably fall out if put under pressure. She tried not to worry much, but she couldn't help but hope they were ok. Her hand glided over something connected to the ribbon, sparking curiosity. Y/N grabbed ahold of it, seeing it was a note. It read 'My dear Y/N.. I know you don't know who I am, but I wish you did. You're wondering how this small box got onto your window, I'll explain it when we meet. I hope you like the gift<3' Y/N's heart skipped a beat. Gift? She shuffled over to her bed, hoping not to shake the gift too much. Gently, she placed the box on her bed, sitting behind it. 'Should I really be accepting this?.. It's rude not to, but I have literally no clue who sent this..' Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed her clock. '12:48? That late already?' Y/N decided that she would open it in the morning. Placing the box by the lamp, she looked at the ceiling and wondered who sent the gift, and most importantly, why?..

"Did you have a good sleep, dear?" Y/N's mother seemed quite cheery, unlike her daughter. "It was alright I guess." Y/N ate some more cereal, feeling her mother's pale eyes watching her. "Hey, Ma?" Y/N looked up at her mother, surprised, she nodded. "Yes Y/N?" She couldn't help it, but she just had to know. "Do you know who my father is?.." Her mother didn't flinch, her expression didn't change. She remained completely calm. "Your father was a kind man. Loving, caring, helpful. Anything I could ever hope for. But, we were separated when you were just born." Y/N was surprised at this. Her mother normally avoided her father, but know that they'd moved, she seemed happy to talk about him. Y/N didn't think of it too much, as her mother had just been released from a mental hospital. "I'ma head out today." Y/N stated as she washed her bowl in the sink. "Of course! While you're out, could you get me some more groceries? I'll write a list for you." Y/N's mother grabbed a pen and paper, smiling with delight. "I'll get dressed and grab the list as I leave." Y/N walked up the stairs to her bedroom, passing her pet cat as she walked. He followed her into the room, hoping for some food. After a few minutes, Y/N was dressed in a long-sleeved white crop top, a black denim skirt, a red leather coat and a snake belt given to her by her brother. Happy with her look, she gradually made her way downstairs. As she walked past the kitchen table, she grabbed the list her mother had prepared. She grabbed her purse, put on her shoes and left.

'Tonkatsu, eggs, rice, soy sauce. We must be having Katsudon tonight..' Y/N was thinking to herself, walking down the street. She noticed a small coffee shop on the other side of the road. She crossed over, happy to see a small shop in a city. As she entered, her eyes met those of a green haired boy. He was staring directly at her, his green eyes shining in the light. Snapping back to reality, she walked up to the counter. "What can I get for you ma'am?" The cashier sounded very approachable. "Can I get a white tea with 2 sugars please?" The cashier smiled, "Of course you can! That'll be $2.45." A while after, Y/N walked out of the coffee shop, hoping to see the boy again. Sadly, she lost sight of him. Disappointed, she continued on towards Marukane for her mother. As she kept walking, she passed a group of middle-schoolers acting like children. She shot them a glare, silencing them. Y/N loved that her expression determined what people thought. It gave her comfort, knowing that her father must have been a scary man. She knew her father was scary because her mother looked like an angel. Well, from what people told her.

Being lost in the department store is the worst thing that could happen. Luckily, Y/N could see where things were, and she had strong sense of smell. As she made her way to the rice, a young girl was reaching for something. "What's wrong young one?" Y/N crouched down to match the girl's size. "My mommy told me to get some cream but I can't reach.." The little girl looked sad, so Y/N decided to assist. "Would you like me to get it for you? Or I could carry you to get it?" The girl's eyes went bright. "Yes please! If you lift me, I can get it!!" giggling, the little girl looked at Y/N. Y/N picked up the girl, making sure to be gentle. The girl grabbed the bottle of cream, and Y/N put her down. Before the girl ran off, she gave Y/N a hug. "Thank you!! You're my hero!" With that, the little girl disappeared. Y/N stood up, feeling like she was being watched. She turned her head, but saw nothing. 'I'm probably imagining things..' She continued to the rice, hoping the feeling would go away. When she reached her destination, she looked down to her mother's list, up to the rice, and back down. 'Yep. That's the one.' As she reached for the rice, something, or someone, bumped into her sending her crashing to the ground. "I am so sorry! Let me help!" Y/N looked at the person which knocked her over, locking eyes with a pair of green ones..
