DISCOVERING THE TRUTH
“Aurora, they’re coming for you” Aurora heard her mom shout, she quickly got up from the couch and walked towards her “what’s going on?” she asked in a panic, “just run and hide,” her mother told her and pushed her through the back door. Aurora didn’t even find her way and already found herself in front of a closed door “where is she?” she heard someone shouting from the house “very far and you will never find her” her mother answered “oh dear, we will find her sooner or later but since you don’t want to help us we have no use for you” said the same voice ,in the voice you could hear his determination, he was convinced that nothing would stop him, that nothing would stop him from finding Aurora. After only a few moments there was a loud scream Aurora quickly hid and masked her scent, she wasn’t sure what was going on but she knew she had to hide. After she was sure everyone was gone she pulled herself out of her hiding place and cautiously opened the door with trembling hands. But she was not prepared for what she found there, her mother was lying lifeless on the floor...tears immediately ran down her cheeks and in just a few moments she was beside her on her knees, sobbing and holding her hand. She didn’t understand anything , who were these people? what do they want from her? and why did they kill her mother? While she was crying she didn’t even notice her father sneaking up on her. “Aurora” he said gently and took her by the shoulder “Aurora we have to get out of here” he added quietly and tried to pull her towards him “no I don’t want to” argued Aurora “Why ?Why did they kill her? What is happening?” she said through tears. “I’ll explain everything to you later, but now we have to leave right away, please just come with me” Aurora went with her father and left her mother with a heavy heart, she could not come to terms with the fact that her mother is dead, that she will never see her again...
While Aurora was trying to somehow understand what was happening, her father was trying to think of a way to tell her the truth...how to explain to her that even though he and her mother lied to her that everything was for her good but no matter how much he thought he didn’t find an easy way to do it. He realized that he simply had to tell her the truth, that although it was too late for her to know the truth, it was better to know it now than never, her father knew that they would surely find them and that she had to be ready to run no matter what. “Daddy, what’s going on, please give me an explanation?” Aurora begged her father through tears because even though she tried to explain all this in countless ways, she couldn’t, she could only see her mother lying in her own pool of blood, motionless, helpless, she couldn’t get that scene out of her head. “Aurora, listen to me carefully, and please listen to me until the end before you start judging us” her father said and took a deep breath “about twenty years ago your parents were killed by the alpha king” he looked at her, took her hand and continued “before they died, your parents asked us to hide you and keep you safe if something ever happened to them” he ran his finger over her cheek and wiped away her tear “you have to understand that we love you more than anything, but we couldn’t tell you the truth, we had to protect you at all costs” he took a deep breath, he was relieved to finally explain everything to Aurora “now it’s finally time for you to understand why we were so strict about your training, why we moved every six months , we tried to protect you, we tried, but they found us, now we have to run... you are the daughter of a werewolf and a witch, you are forbidden, you should have been killed at birth but your parents sacrificed themselves to save you “he said and looked into her eyes “and we sacrificed a lot to keep you safe” he turned his gaze out the window and added “alpha king found you and we have to do everything to make you disappear”
even though they had been sitting in the car for a long time, her father finally started the car and got into traffic, where was he going? he himself didn’t know, the loss of his wife hit him hard, but he knew he had to protect Aurora at all costs....
