Amelia Harris is a victim of her psycho boyfriend and has no way out. Slowly but surely Brady has eradicated anyone close to her, making sure they live in a town where no one knows them. Their house sits on the beautiful lake, close to the woods, but for Amelia there is no solace. She doesn't appreciate the views or the natural beauty. It's a prison. For her, the bridal store she works in is the only thing she's got. But when her shifts end, her nightmare begins. Vinnie Jordan can't believe his job is to watch over his brother, AJ's fiancé as she plans their wedding. AJ is convinced someone is after him, and therefore begs the best bodyguard he can to look after her-Vinnie. Vinnie is convinced AJ is overreacting, but he can't refuse. The brothers have a checkered past, and only Vinnie knows how to handle their enemies. Well, AJ's enemies. But then he sees Amelia, and beneath her expertly applied make up, he sees her scars. The sweet, quiet woman refuses to even look at him, and he is hooked. Determined to find out who's hurting her, he begins to ask questions...ones he won't like the answers to. Amelia tries to ignore Vinnie but she soon realises he isn't going anywhere. What happens when Vinnie meets old ghosts trying to save her?

BlackKat07: Loved the characters and plot. Unfortunately after about chapter 10 the book really needs a good proof-read - lots of spelling and grammatical errors that spoiled it for me. Up till then I was happy to correct the occasional one, but after that I just lost interest when there were up to three in a...

My 13-year-old daughter is super smart and says I am her best friend so I guess it is possible. I struggled because boys usu...
