Good

It's a little difficult to determine who is speaking at times because there are no quotation marks in the dialogue. Also the characters have no names yet? I'm curious about what she (the MC) has to say to her (I'm assuming) boyfriend or S.O?
I'm not sure what this is about but you have an interesting story here and I would like to read more.

Loved this

This is one of those books that stays on your mind long after you've read it. I found it hard to put down. The 1960s must have been a wonderful but scary time to be alive. Reading this, you can feel what the characters are going through. I felt various emotions even tearing up at times. The author did a terrific job telling the story. I enjoyed this book and hope to have a copy of my own someday.

So far

There are parentheses in the dialogue that don't belong there and make the text appear garbled. I like your use of description. Over all this just needs a good edit. Keep up the good work.
