Ry's Sicht
„Hier unterschreiben“, sagte Onkel Barry, unser Familienanwalt, und deutete mit seinem kurzen, dicken Zeigefinger auf das weiße Dokument.
Er ist zwar nicht mein leiblicher Onkel, aber ich sehe ihn als solchen an. Er ist der beste Freund meines Vaters. Die beiden kennen sich schon, seit sie in den Windeln lagen. Ich mag Onkel Barry sehr. Er hat mich immer wie einen Sohn behandelt, obwohl er selbst keine Kinder hat. Er hat mich auch schon unzählige Male aus dem Schlamassel geholt. Aber heute wird er mir da nicht raushelfen können. Das zeigt zumindest sein stoisches Gesicht.
Mein Blick huschte zu Papas ausdruckslosem Gesicht. Er gab mir ein kurzes Nicken und beobachtete mich dabei vorsichtig, so wie er es schon mein ganzes Leben lang getan hat.
Ich umklammerte den Stift in meiner Hand so fest, dass er fast zerbrochen wäre.
Ich zögere.

I just finished reading your story “The Agreement” and I loved it so much. Your writing is amazing, and I kept thinking how compelling it would look as a comic.
One scene that really stood out is in Chapter 1, when Ry Westbrook is blindsided by a marriage contract his father has signed on his behalf. The tension is palpable as Ry grapples with the shock of the arrangement, his anger simmering beneath the surface. The moment is charged with emotion, and the internal conflict Ry experiences would translate beautifully into comic panels. The use of close-ups on his clenched fist, the cold expression of his father, and the weight of the contract itself would create a powerful visual narrative.
That blend of suspense, emotional depth, and dramatic tension makes The Agreement feel tailor-made for a comic adaptation. The complex characters and intricate plot would look incredible in illustrated form.
