The setup here is incredibly strong. Mixing the brother’s best friend angst with the intense pressure of the NFL, and then adding a stalker into the mix? The stakes are so high right off the bat. Lila’s fierce, ambitious energy and Rhys’s total inability to stay away are already giving off major chemistry. I am fully prepared for all the emotional chaos to come!
This feels less like a simple “before you read” and more like a warning that I’m about to get emotionally attached and suffer 😭💜 The way you introduce Rhys and Lila already makes their dynamic feel so interesting—especially with that brother’s-best-friend tension hanging over everything. Lila being a fiercely ambitious photographer immediately makes me want to know more about her, because she doesn’t feel like someone who is simply going to stand around waiting for the romance to happen. 📸✨And Rhys??? The whole “trying to follow the rules while clearly struggling with his feelings” energy is already dangerous for my reader heart. 😭 The contrast between his protective nature and Lila’s independent, confident personality is SUCH a good setup for tension. I also love that the story promises more than romance—the family loyalty, secrets, media pressure, and darker consequences make it feel like there’s going to be a lot underneath the chemistry.The little hints about stolen glances, jealousy, impossible choices, and that judgmental Persian cat choosing Rhys immediately 😂🐈⬛ were honestly enough to make me curious. You’ve set up the emotional stakes before even getting properly into the story, and now I’m sitting here like... okay Sneha, I see what you’re doing. 👀Definitely feels like the kind of story where the characters are going to make questionable decisions and I’m going to happily sit there judging them while turning the next page. 😂💜
