The First Encounter

The night, dark and moonless, drenched in torrential rain in the middle of a wild forest where the shadows seemed figures and everything seemed a threat to be perceived as a slight movement on the corner of the eyes, at least for most humans.

A tall woman, dressed in a white dress, with long black curly hair, loose, slapping her back as she ran, trying to escape the greatest danger she could know, which all her species knew, she fled from Supernatural Hunters, humans who had been given gifts to fight the magical species, she looked over her shoulder, trying to detect the position of her pursuers, without any chosen path or possible hiding place, she ran aimlessly, she knew she was lost in the woods, she knew that she needed to find a place to hide, but she couldn't see any, her legs were on fire her muscles wanted to gave out, her breathing burned her chest, but she couldn't stop, her fuel was the fear installed in all her pores, since childhood, this fear told her not to stop. She looked over her shoulder as she hit a massive wall of fur that made her retreat and fall to the floor, and she immediately raised her hands, in an instinctive reflex, ready to do magic, she would not let herself be taken without a fight.

But in front of her she saw a young woman in the middle of the transformation, a werewolf, her eyes still had the purple color characteristics of the species, the root of her hair was white and the elongated canine teeth were still visible on her rosy lips, a snarl stuck in the throat and the black claws in the hands slowly retracting.

"Hunters are here! Run!" Lily looked at the young teen with a surprise stamped on her face, the magical species were competitive and individualistic, she never expected to receive a warning from another species, and felt obliged to reciprocate, "Here, too!"

"This way!" Advised the she-wolf, already human, letting her see the other woman’s light brown honey-colored eyes and her curly copper-colored hair on an angelic face. Lily accepted the hand she held out to her and ran at her side, noting that by the first step of the two she had already begun the process of transformation.

They did not run very far before a young man came crashing into them, he was tall, with white skin, and dark blue eyes, that identified his specie only by looking at him, lips red like the blood he looked at both with startled expression, "hunters!" He warned, in a breath.

"Oh, my Goddess!" Lily panted, trembling with fear and cold.

"The haunted caves!" The she-wolf pointed out, with urgency n her voice nodding with her head the direction of the caves.

"No!" Lily begged, startled.

"It’s our only chance of survival." The she-wolf noted, pushing the other two against the wall, she started moving in the direction that she mentioned.

"I don’t want to die!" It was the young man’s argument that ended the discussion and made Lily follow the she-wolf.

The young she-wolf who seemed to be the only one who knew the way or the one who was accustomed to leading in critical situations, was leading the group towards the base of a mountain, the two other elements followed her with haste not wanting to face the Hunters alone.

The only sigh of relief they allowed themselves to surrender was when they collapsed from exhaustion, already at the end of their breath, into the dark cave, too dark for any of them to see themselves. To battle the darkness, Lily lit a blue flame that flickered on the walls and increased their shadows, the she-wolf began her transformation back into her human form, and the only sound that accompanied the unfolding of the transformation was the crackling and clicking of the bones breaking and reordering, and the groans of the woman.

Lily noticed that the transformation of the young wolf was more time-consuming and when she was once again human and Lily opened her mouth to inquire with her natural curiosity, about the subject when a thick, masculine voice reverberated on the walls of the cave, "who dares to enter my cave?!"

The three strangers who had joined forces to flee from the Hunters, joined again to face this new threat, but neither opened their mouths to answer the question asked by the air since none of them could you see where the voice came from, "what reasons do you have, to enter my domain? What are you looking for?"

"Protection!" Lily shouted her voice breaking with fear of the unknown threat.

A cavernous laugh was what they heard, sending a shiver of fear to rose in the spine of each stranger, "protection? In here? From whom, or from what do you flee to enter these caves, that for centuries have seen no soul?"

"Hunters!" The young wolf responded in a threatening tone, without hesitation, without fear in her voice.

"Hunters? This way? Seriously?" Asked the voice, now more normal with a certain tone of excitement.

Gradually a figure appeared, a small strong person, with a joviality look, but his black hair with a silver-white top indicated that he was an adult, totally formed, at least, by the standards of Humans and most mythic species, "yes, Hunters! It’s nothing exciting but rather terrifying!" The boy spoke answering the man’s question.

"Yes ... Maybe ... But it’s exciting for me! Nothing ever happens here in the caverns! Good. I think, for now, you can stay! My name is Anthony Liebs, but my friends call me Thony if only I had some! And I am an Earth Demon! So who and what are you?"

The young wolf hesitated, her arms still open, in an attempt to protect the other two, a protective instinct, but Lily stepped forward, the flame burning in her hands, lowering Sam’s arms with her free hand, "I’m Lily Heavens, White Witch of Level Five of the Coven of Rosaceae!"

"Great pleasure meeting you, Lily! Now, if you could light the torches on the walls, I think we all would be grateful!" Tony gestured too the walls where the torches he kwew where.

Lily nodded, a smile on her face, joined the hand that had the flame with the other whispered something, in a language that none of the three could understand, then she opened her arms as if to embrace someone invisible and light-filled the dark cave, making possible for everyone to see each other clearly, "thank you, Lily, I think this is better," the demon nodded his head thanking her.

Then the demon’s gaze fell on the only male member of the group, who came forward to see the magic better, and was amazed at everything he saw, "you, boy, who are you?"

"My name is Robert Crisler, I’m a vampire."

"How long?" Tony asked curiously, vampires where measured in power by the age since they were bitten, as older the vampire the more powerful he where.

"Thirty-eight years." Rob answered almost in a whisper, due to the age that he had since he was transformed usually his pears wouldn't gave him credit or wanted to hear what he had to say, his opinion didn't matter.

"A baby," Tony was surprised to be accompanied in the feeling by Lily, "what are you doing alone? Where’s your nest?"

"I’m not a baby!" The young man replied indignantly.

"Of course not! You’re a vampire and by the standards of your kind, you’re just a child!"

"I know that!" Robert gritted his teeth with a touch of irritation.

"But coming back to the conversation, you did not answer my question." Tony insisted.

"We were attacked, I was the only one who managed to escape, but I’ve been hunted by Hunters ever since!"

"Hmm! How long ago was that?" Tony asked curiously, raising Robert’s nerves.

"About two weeks ago," Robert replied, with a shrug but to hide the sudden anger and shame for the fact of being alive while others were dead.

"Hmm! Impressive,"commented the demon with joy.

Anthony looked directly at Sam who looked suspicious, and though she was human, she grinned, "we just need to know, then, here …"

"Sam! Werewolf!" She quickly replied.

"Where is the pack, Sam? Or are you an omega?" Tony teased, with his natural curiosity.

"More or less! I had a pack," answered the wolf, still in defense.

"What happened?" Lily asked, saddened by the woman, everyone knew that werewolves were family structured packs and one werewolf wouldn't survive long as a lone wolf, and the most common reason for a wolf to be packless was that he was thrown out of the pack either for crimes or for challenging the alpha.

"We were attacked, I barely survived, and worse, I am the last white wolf!" She said, almost mechanically, which hid her true feelings.

"How long ago was that?" Lily asked in a sad tone if she could, and if Sam’s voice would reveal it, she would have run to comfort her.

"Four months ago!"

"Are you an omega without being by choice four months ago and still alive?" Tony asked impressed, "what position did you occupy in the pack?"

Sam raised his head proudly before answering, "I was the alpha!" But even with the proud demeanor, Lily could notice some guilt in her voice.

"Of course, that explains almost everything," Tony commented happily.

"Probably," Sam said in a tone that ended the argument.

"Come on, let’s go wherever I can offer you something to drink and to eat, Lily, will you please turn off the lights as we go out, I don't want any more strangers in my caves," he asked leading the way to the inside of the cave.
