Chapter 1
Winning and Moving
'Smash her down Angel, pin her. A white man called happily to a black afro haircut girl who was wrestling and she looked up smiling happily.
'Win 1st round by pin!'.
This was a senior girls wrestling competition which was held in Lagos state.
Angel spars with another (Esther Jolapo) who has a long cascading hair.
She runs and ducked under Esther grabbing her ankles and pushed her down, she does a figure 4 leglock amid cheers from the spectators.
Esther tries to break the lock but after a count of five she couldn't, she used her hands to hit the podium and Angel won the second round by submission.
The third round became tough as Esther didn't give any allowances for Angel to use, Angel found it hard to throw Esther. It was a tough round as the both of them were moving fast, until Angel ran to esther, feinted and used abdominal stretch which Esther couldnt break.
'win by submission and the winner is Angel Waju Benedict!' 'yea thats my daughter!' Lon Benedict yelled as Angel held a golden cup. Angel was very happy she won and tears of joy dropped from her eyes.
'Thank you for using the Nigerian flight, welcome to San Diego America'. A feminine voice blared from some speakers in a crowded airport.
Two figures, a man and a girl can be spotted walking to a check point, the girl was about to be roughly searched when Lon suddenly appeared shouting at the men.
'hey leave my daughter alone, does her colour warrant her to be roughly searched like that, you crazy jerks. The security officials were shocked, and they let them go.
“Angel, i still don't get why they hate Africans especially Nijerans'. Angel chuckled. ''dad, its Nigerians not Nijerans''. 'its almost the same thing, well never mind, lets take a cab home shall we''. “Yes dad.“
They boarded a cab and Lon directed the cabby to their home.
They got to a small modest apartment and Lon opened it, Angel walked in as Lon paid the cabby. 'home sweet home'. Lon said smiling. 'your room is at the left, it has a bath and toilet in there, the kitchen is after the parlour, well you would have time to explore, go to your room, let me help you with your bags'. 'I am fine dad thanks'.
