Very interesting start
"A very interesting start to what could be a very compelling story. I am looking forward to seeing where it goes. The writing is of good quality for the most part, and the characters seem very interesting. I’m curious about the world created and the lore around it. Definitely will read the rest as it comes out."

"My overall impression of the story as it is right now is that it is a great start. (5 chapters available) The characters are being introduced, but that is pretty much all there is to discover right now. I am invested in this story and will be on the lookout for new chapters to see how these characters will eventually become intertwined, but as it is now, there is little to no overlap. The author does well with the character descriptions and the settings that these characters are in. They are intriguing characters and make you want to know more about them. Great start, author. Can't wait to read more. "

"The storytelling for each of the character introductions gives you a window into this scifi world of flawed characters haunted, hunted, hiding, and seeking purpose. The author has offered as a summary that these very different people from different backgrounds will converge in some way and you have some anticipation toward that fortuitous event but not sure when it may happen and then once it does how they may change the each other and their world view. The third person POV works well to give us an omniscient overview of the happenings. The prose is clear and descriptive in showing us what’s happening rather than telling us. Each character introduced though remains a mystery in some respects but the reader takes in real time activity that each endures to discern motivations. The characters seem well-rounded and while different through dialogue may glean their unique personalities which all work to make the reader eager to learn more about them at present and their back stories which lead them along their journeys. It also helps to build interest toward the characters’ motivations that lead them to make the decisions they do to overcome the hardships each face. It is a great start to an interesting world these characters inhabit and the reader cannot wait to learn more about when future chapters are introduced by the author. I would recommend ”Nightshade” to anyone enjoying drama-filled sci-fi with intrigue and mystery."

"The story’s pacing was good, and I could visualise the scenes as intended by the author. However, I found it difficult to pronounce some character names, and it would be helpful if they could enunciate their names in future chapters. There are four main characters (Aine, Diana, Paskit, and Dee), which I find ambitious and brave. As someone with a short attention span, I find it a bit challenging to keep track of all of them, but the chapters are well-structured. I’m curious to see how the author will develop their journeys and stories since the first four chapters are an introduction to their characters. Although it’s too early to rate the whole book, I have a feeling that Nightshade will be a good read. I wondered how Diana got into that cult and how Dee had so much courage to do such kind of work. I loved Paskit’s chapter, I also had my mouth opened cause the author had bamboozled me about the performance. The author got me hooked by the fifth chapter, what was the mist? Was it real or was it from Aine’s medication? Also, her mum was an added stress factor to her, which was quite relatable to me. The chapters need some rereading and re-editing for the author’s part since I saw some wrong spellings. But they’re all fixable. So far, I think it’s good. I’m hoping for more chapters soon. PS. The review might change when the book has been completed. <3"
