Prologue

In the quiet of the night, a warm soft breeze wafted through the air, swaying the green leaves in the trees and beneath the brittle brown leaves slowly decomposing into the warm soil below. The breeze slowly began to stir, the winds grew in strength and grew fierce, a beautiful green and white light, intermixing with one another through the trees and swirling through the air.

" We need you to bring back what I no longer can, my sweet child.” A light, tender voice echoed through the forest, the earth began to swell and trees began to sway violently.

The once soft breeze became ever so violent, animals who had been awoken from their sleep from the unnatural, sudden weather began to run away from the source, which seemingly was concentrated solely where the earth seemed to swell. The earth rumbled, the soil churning, the trees swaying and unnaturally bending to the unrelenting wind, a large boulder slowly emerged from the churning soil, the trees around began to topple and lean on their siblings around. The green and white lights grew brighter until they combined and collided with the boulder. The chaos of the forest went silent, all that was left was the creaking of the old trees, still desperately trying to cling to the earth of which it was born. The sound of cracking began to echo throughout the once-quiet forest. Animals began to emerge and come back, curious about the pull and warmth they strangely felt coming from the boulder.

" Come now my children, no need to be scared of this creation, she will bring you peace once again.”

The voice echoed out again, beckoning the animals of the forest, small and large, hunters and prey, all gathering with the curiosity of what lay ahead of them. With one final loud CRAAACKKKK, the top of the boulder slid off and collapsed onto the earth beside it, crumbling into pieces. The brightest of white shone from inside the boulder, the animals turning away unable to handle to light,

Love this dramatic introduction to Calantha. Amazing description of the action. I believe cutting up the large block of text, including separating the dialogue, will help readers better engage with the story. There are some repetitive descriptions that say the same thing. Try not to use "something became stronger" and use "something strengthened." Overall, excited to read the next chapter!
