Taken
Chapter 1: Taken
John was playing in his backyard, tossing a red rubber ball up and down when a sudden flash of light blinded him. He squinted, trying to make sense of the blinding glare, but before he could react, he felt himself lifted off the ground.
The world around him swirled and spun, colors and shapes blending into a blur. He heard a strange humming noise, and his body felt weightless, as if he were floating in mid-air.
Gradually, the whirlwind of sensation slowed, and he found himself in a cold, dimly-lit chamber, illuminated by flickering torches on the walls. The air was heavy with the scent of flowers and wood, and he felt a cool breeze on his skin.
At first, John thought he was dreaming, but then he saw three figures approaching him. They were tall and slender, with pointed ears and almond-shaped eyes that glowed with an otherworldly light.
John tried to run, but the figures were too fast. One of them grabbed him with a firm grip, while the others began to attach wires and sensors to his small body.
“Let me go! Where am I? What do you want?” John shouted, his voice trembling with fear.
The figures didn’t answer, but instead worked in silence, their movements swift and graceful. John felt a sharp prick as one of the wires touched his skin, and he winced in pain.
Suddenly, the chamber was bathed in a bright light, and he felt himself being lifted off the table once more. The figures carried him out of the chamber and down a long, winding corridor.
As they approached a large archway, John saw the vastness of space laid out before him. He gazed in awe at the swirling galaxies and distant stars, feeling a sense of wonder mixed with a deep sense of loneliness.
The figures turned to face him, their eyes glowing in the dark. They spoke in a language he didn’t understand, and John realized with a start that he was very far from home.
He watched as they manipulated buttons and switches on the control panel in front of him. The ship accelerated, causing John to feel a sudden rush of weightlessness.
As he clung to one of the figures, John knew that he was in for an adventure that would change his life forever.
